Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Creative Zen V Won't Charge, Won't be Recognized, Etc.

Hey; I just had the same problem with my player; I uninstalled Windows media player 11 (brought it back to ten). Then I formatted my player, (You do this by unplugging it from the computer, then you turn off the player, and then you press the play button while also powering your player on, once you see the creative labs logo release the play button, a screen will appear, select format, then yes (it will delete all of your information on the player) then once you are done formatting select reboot. Once it's done rebooting connect it to your computer! It fixed the problem for me!

SOURCE: Computer doesn't recognize Zen V

I agree with Fredy. I've tried to mod the firmware, without any success. Windows see the device as an external hard drive, and it won't even show up in the device manager, which means it's a paper weight. You may want to contact creative, because they have a warranty for the device. Best wishes!

SOURCE: computer won't recognize zen when it's connected

If you have any occurances of a libusb-win32 exe process running, it will block you're Vision:M from being recognized by the computer. You can do a couple of things to solve the problem. Either go into task manager and stop the process, or go into control pannel (classic view)> administrative tools> services and stop the process from there. In some cases (like mine) you may have installed the exe as a program (for example if you downloaded the driver to use a PS3 controller with you're pc) for these cases, they either come with an uninstaller that is accessible in the Program files folder, or you can simply delete the entire folder that the exe is in. That last one did it for me...hope it helps all of you.

On the side there is a small hole, if you use a paper clip and press it in the hole for a few seconds the player will be reset. You will feel that you are pressing the reset button. My doughter had the same problem, dead to 100% but after reset it worked again.

How to restore a zen xfi2 when mistakenly formatted through computer? There are no more files on the player and an error window that reads Media is not formatted with a supported file system

a usual message for every format performed.

1. log onto the microsoft network site to acquire a digital media restore software or verify from the ZEN network site for restore software programs also.

2. once dowloaded onto a computer, connect the ZEN device with a USB cable provided should establish a transfer of software copies back into the Device.

3. A restore of the device with default ZEN software would require transfering media once more.

4. download onto a computer the a media converter software

Zen V Plus not charging and not recognized by windows

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.

Computer stopped recognizing USB cord from Zen sleek photo

The first problem is probably a software incompatibility between Creative's software and Windows Media Player version 11. The second problem is possibly a need to replace the battery. 3rd party batteries are about 20 dollars now.

If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
