Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Please clarify if I`ve misunderstood what you`re asking, but with all Thermador ranges and wall ovens ( including your SC302T model, most brands in fact ) the cooling fans will remain on for quite some time after actually shutting the oven off.

This is done by design to keep the electronics cooled to a temperature usually below 200°F so they aren`t damaged.

Heat after all is the thing which damages electronics more than anything else.

I do have use and care guides available via email attachments in "pdf" if you need one.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I hope this eases your concern. Please let me know.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

We have SECD302 ovens, mfg 11/10/04 placed in service 08/05/05(new construction) they have performed perfectly until 2010 (5 yrs). We are retired and my wife is a gourmet cook and uses the ovens extrensively almost daily, she bakes for big dinners and bakes 5000 cookies for christmas gifts. "After" we used the self cleaning cycle the first time (we use "fiberglass type" oven drip sheets and clean/replace them therfore not requiring using the selfcleaning cycle) the ovens started shuting down and the touch panel would not respond "lock up", fault codes F-23, 24,25 would scroll across the screen. After about 5 minutes the touch panel would clear and the ovens could be restarted, however they will shut down again, etc. As you know the trouble code chart says these codes mean something is leaning against or close to the touch panel. Of course this is not happening. I checked the cooling fans, they run while the ovens are operating but shut off when the ovens shuts down or turned off. I got a parts list from the distrubitor in CA, and I looked at the wiring schematic that came with the ovens to find a thermal control for the cooling fans, the distrubitor customer service rep didn't have a clue about what I wanted! I ordered two new cooling fans, thinking the thermal protection might be part of the fan module. What I thought was a thermal sensor was in fact the Hall Effect sensor to tell the controller if the cooling fan is operating. I have been able to keep the ovens operating by placing a floor drying type fan on a ladder blowing across the touch panel. It's a pain in the ****, a least it lets my wife use the ovens and buys me some time until someone can help me pin point the problem and not just throw parts at it. I looking for a "Problem Tree Chart" like I used for repairing electrical problems on automobiles. I believe the problem is caused by the high heat generated during the self-cleaning cycle, and there by over heating and causing some component or heat senors on or around the control board to stop or fail. If I ever get ours working, we will never use the self cleaning cycle again.

    what say you Macmarkus.

Thanks for the good work you are doing. Byrdman

    Hello byrdman,

As you've discovered the problem may be manifesting from the control itself or wiring. What I can do is email you a complete service manual if you first email me at my windows live account, I can then send it as an attachment.

address to contact me is macmarkus@live.ca

    I'll watch for your reply.

SOURCE: top oven glass in door is broken (thermadore).

Hi,
Your oven model number is usually located on the rim of one of the oven doors or on the frame oaround a door. Some ranges with bottom drawers have the model number on the frame behind the drawer.

Here is a tip that I wrote about replaceing your glass....

SOURCE: I am getting an F64

Hi, i found out from Thermador customer service that error code F64 means that the lower fan switch (located inside the bottom trim on the right side) is not being detected as closed. In my case, this was because the header (P4) on the Display panel had broken loose from the PC board and was no longer making contact. P4 is where the lower fan switch wires connect to the control boards (actually the display panel).

Hi, My Thermador oven is stuck in Lock mode and won't unlock. Any ideas on how I cancel that? Thanks, Peggy

Hi,
Try turning the power off and then back on after a few minutes...
if that does not fix it often the best thing to do is to call the manufacturer cust. service number and let them talk you through it...

My thermador oven tells me error code 14

Sometimes you can unplug the unit for at least 30 minutes and reset the unit and it wont do it again.Try that first. An error code on a thermador of 14 means latch switch problems.

Self-clean turns off after 5 minutes with F2 error message

Hi MaryB,

F2 error code means that the oven temperature is too hot. You will have to replace relay board if faulty. Check and replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). If failure repeats, replace ERC (electronic range control or clock). For replacement part you may contact Sears at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Thermador oven control panel light is not working

Please see post by bonanzsapilot on 14 March 2009; he gives exact & easy to follow directions for making this repair for <$10. It's listed uner 'Thermador SC301IT oven - FixYa'. In a separate post I added the correct capacitor numbers from Newark.com. I made the fix in abt 30 min & it's good as new. Thermador no longer makes control panels for this oven & no wiring diagram is available to help. Shop price was estimated at $500.
