Jensen GPS NVX430BT How do I activate the text to speech ?

On my new Jensen NVX430BT GPS I cannot figure out how to activate the text to speech ?

- First off my Jensen is Model NVX430BT the Touch & Go (manufactured by Audiovox): On my model, this is how I got the text-to-speech to work - when you first turn the unit on, from the Main Menu go to ‘Navigate’ then from that menu select ‘Settings’, then ‘Language & Units’ then ’Voice language’, from there my unit gives me three English (with the US flag) options: male-Jason, female –Amy, or female Samantha TTS v2.0. That’s the one - female Samantha TTS v2.0. Also just make sure after you select this option that you also you select 'OK' at the bottom to activate the new selection.

I wasn't able to find a female voice option that showed tts. Am I missing something?

-   I want to buy this unit but only if the TTS works correctly-when you put the female with the TTS by the name does that get it to work properly and give out street names? Please someone answer because it took me forever to find a unit that I liked and this is a necessity and the adhesive with unit which is not mentioned bu does come with unit doesn't it. thanks. -   raa714

Anyone know where I can download updated maps for my Jensen NX430BT? I don't know where to go to find the maps.

I figured it out. Although not mentioned in the manual or on any of the menus, one of the female voice options has "tts" following the name. If you chose it, the text-to-speech will work. I tried it this weekend in San Francisco. It worked very well.

I'm about to return my Jensen NVX430BT because apparently the maps cannot be updated! The maps installed on the unit I just received are obviously outdated and there is no support from Jensen to get them updated. Too bad, this thing has it all except good directions.

I have this **** and it is total ****. Because maps are outdated. Because you cannot plug to the computer.  Wish I can return it. TO ALL OF YOU I WOULD SUGEST on getting TOMTOM.  they have updates everyweek!  And rated #1

Built in hard drive with pre-loaded maps
Included maps loaded onto the 1 GB of Flash memory with full maps of the US + maps of Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Canada. The maps are pre-loaded so you will not need to spend hours loading maps onto a card or CD like you would need to do with competing products. The maps are also extremely accurate. This model uses the famous TeleAtlas Navigation Mapping system
