SOURCE: 400 watt amplifier not working

Disconnect all the speaker wires from the amplifier that runs the 6-speaker system. Switch off the amplifier or disconnect the remote turn-on wire, then re-connect it. Does the power light still flash with no speakers connected? If so, your amplifier is probably damaged. If not, then connect one speaker and see if it plays. If it doesn't, disconnect the first speaker and connect a different one. If the first speaker plays, continue connecting the rest of the speakers until you find the one that's causing the problem.

SOURCE: wireing diagrams

Hello stingerman20,

Your Directed D2400 amp is CEA2006 Compliant. It is stable at 1ohm and will produce 1,200 watts into that load. So you want your subs wired as close to 1 ohm as possible.

The only 3500 watt Pioneer Premier series subs I could find were the models number TS-W3002D2 and TS-W3002D4 with dual 2ohm and dual 4ohm voice coils respectively. The wiring options for the D2's result in 0.5ohm (too low), 2 ohms, and 8ohms. Your best option would be the 2ohm configuration which would be voice coils in series and subs in parallel. Options for the D4's result in a 1ohm load and a 4ohm load. Your best option would be the 1ohm configuration which would be voice coils and subs parallel.

To see the wiring options, try Rockford-Fosgate's "wiring wizard".
Select 2 woofers and the appropriate voice coil impedance and quantity and click "search". It'll bring up all of the possible wiring configurations along with the final impedance load.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic EAA046B amp connected to a Polk

Hello, if you know how to use a volt/ohm meter and you are comfortable with taking the bottom cover off the amp I can assist you in testing a few things to narrow down the problem. The easiest way would be to talk to you on the phone if you don't mind. I own a car audio installation and amp repair shop. If you want to do it by e-mail we can do that to. I would have to walk you thru the steps, it would'nt take long. Taking the amp out and taking the cover off takes longer. Anyway let me know. It sounds like you may have a power supply problem. Or, it could be a few other components inside. It's hard to say without doing the test that I would help you with first. Cause the amp is coming on but you say with some thumps coming from sub and nothing from the other speakers. It maybe doing the same on the other speakers but because there are crossovers on them it would cut off that low frequecy noise. You could also maybe have some shorted output transistors but like I said, have to do thaqt initial test first if your up to it. Send me a private message so I can get your info or i'll give you mine to decide what you want to do.

SOURCE: connecting subwoofer to kac-7201 kenwood amp

from your sub connect one short piece of cable from + on one side to - on the other side using the same diameter cable as you are running to the sub from amp . this will leave you with + and - on opposite sides of speaker these will then run to the amp +to+ and - to- on the mono side of connetor which is one left + and one - right and the amp switched to bridged

I plug in rockwood detanator VII and it goes to protections mode

Generally if an amp goes straight into protection, the amp is not grounded well enough. Either you should find a new location to ground the amp to or unhook the power wire from the battery, remove the ground wire from the chassis of your vehicle. Strip the paint from the chassis, since it doesn't conduct electricity, and remove any corrosion or copper shielding from the ground connector. reground to a solid metal location Can be grounded to the brace behind the back seat or to the seat belt bolt for best results.
An amp draws a lot of power, there it needs to be grounded well.
Hook back up your power wire to the battery and see if your issue is resolved.

Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:

So the startup red led shows an over current condition, if your sure the speakers are OK then you will need to go "under the hood". The best start for this is the following web site:

This will give you a basic guide to troubleshoot the amp.

Coustic 601se power on but bad sound

This is generally caused when there are blown output transistors but that generally causes the fuse to blow or causes the amp to go into protect mode.

If you connect a 15 amp fuse in series with the main power wire and it blows when remote voltage is applied, the amp is drawing excessive current. The problem could be either in the power supply or audio circuits.

Do NOT apply power without having the transistors clamped TIGHTLY to the heatsink. They can fail in seconds when there is a problem. The heatsink helps protect them.

The following page may be helpful when troubleshooting.
