Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello, I bought this morning a printer Hp officejet pro 8500 A but it doesn't work with the Mac Os X 10.4.11 I have. Please may you write me where I could dowmload a driver to become 10.5 or 10. 6...

Hello, I suggest you have a dig around the HP website as there appear to be several variants of your Officejet 8500. Go to www.hp.com and it will automatically detect your country and take you to that country's web page, though I recommend you try to get on the USA site by going to the bottom of the page and clicking on the world icon. Once there, select 'drivers and downloads' and on the next screen type in your model type, ie 'Officejet Pro 8500'. When I did this several versions came up and only you know which one you have!. If you go to the drop-down menu to select you OS, Mac OS X comes up with no version type, but if you go to the top of the page you'll 2 boxes, in the 'Product' one, make sure you've got 'Officejet Pro 8500' in there, and in the 'question or keyword' box type in 'what version Mac OS X' then in the results you'll see quite a lot of hyperlinks to pages, and at least 2 of them refer to OS X 10.4, but as I said before, you'll have to have a good dig around yourself. Does the kodak 8500 thermal printer work on windows vista?

There are no drivers for the kodak 8500 thermal printer for windows vista so I doubt it would work. The only operating systems that the drivers are available in are windows 98, 2000, ME, and xp.

How can i get the driver for the kodak 8500 driver on window 7 64 bit

Hi,

Thanks for asking FixYa for help. My name is Jeff and I will be assisting you today. That printer was discontinued in 2005 see here:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professional/products/printers/8500/8500.jhtml

subsequently there are no Windows 7 drivers.

Here are the latest that are available:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/software/professional/8500digitalPrinter/8500digitalPrinterSoftware.jhtml#driversWin

Does the printer work?

If you are in need of additional help, please let us know.

Thank you for allowing us to help you today.

Is not printing and is connected with usb and all connections are fine

The key here is your driver and your operating system. You haven't shared either in your question. I've found that MAC systems operating with Leopard and Snow Leopard can't address the 8500 no matter what I seem to do. My gut tells me you may have same issue with Vista and perhaps Windows 7 since Kodak stopped supporting this printer several years ago and all the drivers were written for earlier OS.

If you are still on XP, then you might consider reinstalling your print driver and going thru setup once again.

This is a great printer when you get it to work. I love mine.

Installation

I work for kodak and this is actually a very easy fix.
The MAC OS 10.4.11 won't install off the cd only the website.
The cd sees that the OS is 10.4.1 not 10.4.11 just a glitch and the fix is installing from the website.

And no you need at least 10.4.8 to run the kodak printer on macs.
