You don't say which operating system you use. If windows 7, go to action center and run sound troubleshooter. Make sure sound card is enabled in device manager. More info would help also.

open audio devices and sound properties in your device manager. Is your sound card listed? If so, highlite it and select properties...then see if it is enabled...if not, click enable this device. If not listed, try re-installing it with install new hardware. Finally, if its there, but wont enable, remove the device and reinstall it. If all the above fails, replace the sound card if its not intigrated. if it is intigrated, buy a PCI Plug and play sound card and install it in a pci slot.

Acer AX1700-U3700A with variable Audio on HDMI

Your problem isnt in your PC, it's because you chose the onboard sound to listen to music etc, which is normal. Unfortunately, you need to choose the HDMI Audio output if you want sound on your TV FROM the HDMI cable. Right click the sound icon located to the lower right side of your screen and choose (adjust audio properties). Now go to the audio tab and click the output device window and choose your HDMI audio output, whatever it may be called. Just pick the one that wasn't selected when you opened it and click ok or apply. Now all audio output is controlled by your Video card lol. Crazy aint it?

Please help? i have audio device; i can play music and movie but there is audio output. how can i fix it? any help please! thank! from curt.shane@yahoo.com

Make sure your audio properties are set to the correct output. If you have a second sound card, this is the most common problem. On older systems, the PCI sound card takes over as your primary source of sound output and input, therefore your onboard sound is useless. If neither of these solutions help, it might be a problem with yoru speakers and in that case you will want to check to make sure they are working properly. If this does not work, go into your BIOS(assuming you are using onboard audio) and make sure your audio device is enabled, however this is unlikly beucase it would probably cause problems with windows media player when trying to play any audio. Lastly, there is always the chance that the audio is simply malfunctioning and windows media player, nor the rest of your computer realizes it.

Music wont play through media player due to installing web cam

Hello my friend, i had encounter same problem as you have when i on one of my client's computer. You can reinstall the driver of your sound card. When you installed the program driver of your cam the sound card is affected due to some factor either the sound card is currupted. So my solution are the following: 1. Go to my computer icon then right click it the click properties. Then go to Tab name Hardware then click device manger then check if the sound driver is not installed or it is being corrupt. Then proceed to the reinstallation of your sound card driver. But if the sound card driver is installed then reinstall you windows media player. If you don't have installer then try this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/default.aspx 2. Donwload Windows media player codec and update the codec of your Windows Media Player. try this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=06fcaab7-dcc9-466b-b0c4-04db144bb601&displaylang=en

Sound card wont play root media files

Hi Hughdog
well, Biostar mobos are know for a lot issues, but depending too, on the OS, windows XP I presume, go on safe mode, and uninstall all audio drivers, and disable on the BIOS audio. then start the PC, and install the audio card. or if is a internal audio reenable again, redetec the drivers, and install them according to the CD and drivers. you should see the play device now and play music correctly.
good luck
