PRINTER IS JAMMED SHOWING ERROR

I had a similar problem, my printer was chewing the paper and then I was getting a jammed paper message. I looked inside but couldn't see much anything. I then removed (unscrewed) all the panels, and next I know, a culprit materialized, in other words, something fell inside the printer. I then managed to put it all back together, ended up with a few extra screws, but heck it works like a clockwork. God bless screwdrivers with magnetic tips, they made my life so easier.

How do I clear paper jam

The flashing error code that indicates a jammed printer is the digital-age equivalent of a flat tire. Sooner or later it happens to everyone, so you'd better know how to get things moving again if you want to finish your print job.

1.Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2.Turn off the printer.

3.Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

4.Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.

5.If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

6.If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

7.If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.

8.Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

9.If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

It is sying i have a paper jam but there is no paper in it

There are two types of paper jams:

1) A jammed piece of paper at or near a sensor. Or a shred of paper is stuck under a sensor.
2) A paper feed operation that does not send paper into the printer will get reported as a jam it the paper does not reach a sensor in the time that is allotted to reach the sensor. The printer knows that the page is late and suspects a jam occurred prior to the sensor.
To determine if there is a “Pick” problem in the tray, place a mark (line or scribble) on the top sheet in the paper tray. Send a print operation to the printer. If a jam is reported, check the tray. If the marked page is still in the tray then you know the paper pick failed.
There are dozens of reasons for paper to fail to pick. The simplest fix to try is to remove the paper and fan it to remove any possible static charge causing the paper to stick together.

Paper Jam light is on and there's no jam anywhere. What do you do?

A paper jam notification can be caused by two things. One a hard jam, paper stuck.

Two, If the paper does not reach a flag or sensor on time, the printer knows that a jam has occurred.

Most likely, you had a paper pick problem caused by dirty rollers or maybe the paper is held to tightly by the paper tray. Also a static charge on the paper can sometimes cause sheets of paper to stick together.

Saying clear paper jam, I have done, there is no paper jam

Clearing a paper jam in a Lexmark laser printer is an easy thing to do. Laser printers produce high-quality products and are fairly complex machines, but paper jams (in most cases) can be solved mechanically with a little know-how and time. Follow these steps to learn how to clear a paper jam in a Lexmark laser printer.
  1. ep 1 Take the paper out of the paper trays. This will prevent any more paper from being drawn into the printer to further the jam.
  2. Step 2 Remove the cover from the housing of your Lexmark laser printer. This will expose the inner workings of the printer, and you also should be able to see the jammed paper.
  3. Step 3 Pull gently on the jammed paper. In many cases this is all that is required; the paper jam should move out slowly and smoothly.
  4. Step 4 Press the flashing paper jam button. This will allow the rotors to turn freely, which will facilitate the easy removal of the jam.
  5. Step 5 Unplug your Lexmark laser printer if the jam persists. This will allow you to pull more firmly without the gears working against you.
  6. Step 6 Examine the inner workings and confirm that all paper and shreds of paper have been removed. If the paper tore during the clearing, make sure none remains or it will inhibit normal printer function.
  7. Step 7 Plug the printer back in, refill the paper tray and try to print again.
    • Make sure to use a printer and paper type that are compatible. Consult your owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s Web site.
    • To deal with a large jam, it might be necessary to pull sheets from the middle of the jam in order to loosen the whole thing.
    • Always pull the paper “with the grain” of the mechanism, if possible. Pull it through the printer the way paper normally travels so that you don’t go against the gears.
    • For more serious repairs, contact an electronic store or professional repair person.
