Question about Canon PIXMA MP760 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

I am having trouble with the yellow. I have tried changing ink tanks, the yellow still doesn't print, all the other colours are perfect. I've done all the maintenance procedures with no luck.

I have done several nozzle checks (as well as other maintenance cleaning) and the only colour that doesn't print at all is the yellow. Wouldn't the other colours be affected if it was the drivers? I've had the printer for over 5 years now.....I've been very happy with it, but I guess all things wear out eventually....I was hoping it was just a minor/fixable problem.

If you've changed the cartridge and the problem still persists, then it must be the print head which is causing the problem. Perhaps the portion of the print head where the yellow cartridge is blocked or some ink clogged on it.
To fix the issue, simply open the machine, remove all the cartridges, remove the print head and dip it (the print head) in a bowl of warm water for few minutes and clean it. Don't use any cleaning material like brush or your hand to clean the print head, use only water, just wave it inside the water. After it's cleaned and dried, reinstall it on the machine.

You also need to clean all the contacts on the cartridges, use a piece of cotton dipped in alcohol/acetone/spirit to clean the contacts (dotted metal contacts on the cartridges). Wipe them properly and very gently (you might damage it, do it very carefully).

In addition to the above mentioned tips, you can also clean the machine thoroughly using a blower and a brush.

After everything is cleaned and dried, reinstall all the removed components and try again. The machine and the print should work properly by now.

If you need further help, let me know.

(Note: You can also use Cleaning Kit solution instead of warm water, but warm water is better to get rid of the dried ink quicker.)

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sometimes you can have a faulty ink cartridge. Although the ink levels are full it maynot print one particular color.
Try reinstalling the drivers, taking ink cartridge in and out, if that fails the i'd say its foo barred...
Purple blue etc, are printed by mixing the yellow, green and red inks together (the primary colours). If you've just bought it i'd take it back, otherwise i think its time for a new printer.

My Business Inkjet 2280 will not print yellow properly. Its a brand new ink cartridge and my printing comes out striped. Ive tried cleaning and resetting, what do i do?

Try replacing the yellow Printhead. The printheads are inside the print carriage, usually a purple coloured flap, acessible from the top of the machine, and often confused with ink tanks.

There is a ink tank for each colour, and a seperate printhead for each colour....

Print heads and test prints fine......will not print ay documents

I subsequently discovered that only black would not print - the other colours did. The following solution should work for any colour

Turn on the printer
Lift the front cover so that the ink tanks line up at the front
Move the grey arm to the right of the yellow upwards
Remove the ink tanks (in my case 4)
Carefully lift out the plastic holder for the ink tanks, this I believe holds the print heads
Clean the head(s) using cotton buds and injet refill ink cleaning fluid. I get mine from Tescos with my refill inks.
Replace everything and hopefully your printer will be o.k. Mine was

Printer is refusing to print colour, with full colour ink tank.

Have you checked the ink levels in your cartridges? Ink can dry due to usage and also due to prolonged non usage.
