What is the make and model of the autio device? If you don't know, then you can visit the website of your computer's manufacturer (if it's a custom computer then you'll want to visit the motherboard's manufacturer's website) and download the latest driver for Windows Vista. If no Vista drivers are available, you should at least be able to find out what the device is from that website and then go to the audio device's manufacturer's website to obtain the driver. If Vista already has the driver then it will be installed automatically.

Start / Control Panel / Add Hardware.

Vista will automatically scan for your new device, and a wizard will appear prompting you to install automatically, at wich point you insert the product CD if you have one.

If not, often it will correctly install automatically anyway, and it is advisable to be connected to the internet at this point too, so that it may check if there is not a newer driver on the 'Windows Update' website.

Regards,

Erik.

I would suggest trying to update the audio driver
From your system tray select the speaker icon then "playback devices" and make sure you have the right audio device selected.

No sound on laptop think it got deleted by mistake . how can i fix this ?

To fix audio problems, you need to find and install the latest drivers that perfectly match your audio device.

1. To find the latest audio drivers, you need to know your PC brand and model, your Windows® operating system, your audio device brand and model, and the current audio driver installed on your PC.

2. After this, you now have to start the laborious, time-consuming, and headache-inducing task of trying to find the most up-to-date audio driver and save it on your PC. And then you need to uninstall your old driver, and install the new driver you found.

3. You need to ensure that this new driver works 100% with your Windows® version and other hardware devices.

Iam not having the audio device in my lap top unable to raise the volume or remove the mute itry to remove the mute in control panel clicking the option of sounds but didn't work out they said...

it seems that your windows did not installed properly. some files may be missing. so you should repair your window from the windows cd and then check out your volume control option. If still it would not work then check out the audio drivers.

I got a couple of virus infected my PC a week ago (Essential Cleaner & MS Removal Tool). I had to download instructions on how to remove such virus on the internet. I managed to remove the first virus...

Even if you remove a virus, most of the cases, the damage cannot be repaired. Remove the sound driver and install it once again. If that doesn't work, you should consider reinstalling the OS.

Hi,I'm having a very big problem. In the Sound and Audio Device it is said that there's No audio Device !.Even though days before, i was having sound. In the Audio tab,in the MIDI music playback there's...

Ok, if you have the audio driver installer with you then it's fine, otherwise download it from your PC manufacturer's site for your model no. Run the installer, it will extract some files in C drive in a folder. now open device manager, right click on audio controller and select update option, then select install manually and "i will choose driver". In the next dialogue, click 'browse' and point it to the folder where driver has extracted files, inside the folder somewhere there will be a .inf file, select that and click OK.
If you are still having difficulty, then post here your model no., audio device etc. in detail, then i can guide you better.

Another "No Audio output device is installed"

Actually the problem that you have is the power management. Go into Control panel then the power settings. Make sure to turn off system standby. The reason that it is not installed after it comes from sleep is that it is not reenabling. THe computer turns off the component during sleep.

I checked their website. Did you download the sound driver RAM2080 Win Vista x 86 15.02.2007 version 6.10.5337.0?

If so and it did not work it looks like you'll have to update the BIOS (BIOS update RAM2080 _only_ for MS Windows Vista 14.05.2007 version F0A. However BE VERY CAREFUL and follow the instructions EXACTLY, otherwise you may make the computer unbootable.

No sound

Actually the problem is incorrect installation of Drivers.........so firstly uninstall the drivers from ur CONTROL PANEL and re-install it once again...........if the problem is same, then re-install the XP operating system sp2 with different CD serial and then drivers.....
CAUTION: see thst there is no virus exists in ur HARD DISK.......

In place of vista i installed xp(sp2),after that sound problem.

In order to install the HD Audio driver, you have to install the Microsoft HD Driver (Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. that said, here's the XP driver for the sound:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe
