Question about Casio EXILIM Digital Camera

1 Answer

I've had my casio EXILIM (pink) 7.2 mp camera for a couple of years and never had a problem with it until i tried charging it a few days ago and the light on the charger just blinked on and off the whole time and when I tried to put the battery back into my camera it wouldn't turn on I'm guessing there must be something wrong with the battery?? If so where can I buy a new one?

Most likely the battery is at the end of it's useful life. Check your charger output, just to make sure both aren't bad.

Here's a nice bundle of things including the battery:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NAQXBY/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003V7CCRS&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=018PXXXGCSF4F14HRMM0
This was the lowest price I could find on the battery, and it's a nice package for the money. Best Buy or a local camera shop may have a replacement, possibly even Walmart.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.
Oh, one other thing- make sure the battery contacts, and also the contacts inside the camera are clean. You can clean them with a qtip and isopropyl alcohol.

Casio cameras use generally chinese batteries. They are mostly under an acceptable quality. So the battery you have bought may be out of order. I do not think that your camera is out of order.
Try another working battery.
If it will not work then send me a comment and lets control additionally.

Casio Exilim EX-S880 will not turn on

The problem is the spring terminals inside the camera are not making good contact with the battery. I had to use a screw driver and gently push them to the left to make better contact with the battery terminals. There are three connections. I stress that you be gentle. This not the long term fix but you will be able to take pictures in the short term.

Camera does not react

I quote: "A couple of days ago after using it when trying to see the pictures on the camera the LCD did not show anything. The lens reacted and even take pictures but nothing was visible on the LCD screen."

That means that there was a problem either with a LCD display or with ribbon cable.

Now:"I tried charging the battery and removing it from the camera, now the camera only does a bit sound when switching on but nothing else, the lens does not even come out."

That means that the ribbon cable had probably shorted, now the camera may be furtherly damaged.

The camera must be disassembled to access the LCD and fix the problem.
The repair must be done by an experienced technician, as to access the LCD you need to remove both covers.

It can't be switched on

What you all need to do is contact Tech Support and tell them you're having trouble with your battery. Casio will send one to you free of charge that has been tested and should work.

Is your charger plugged into a power strip?  Try plugging it into the wall instead.  It worked for me.  It just blinked a few times then it began charging!

Even casio seem confused by this question! It seems that the camera will loose it's settings if the battery is dead or the camera is not connected via USB. Even if the battery is charged it could loose the settings within 24hrs. You can get the manual below: http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/manual/
