Question about Mitsubishi WS48511 48" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Green power light flashes 2 times pauses, flashes 2 more times, pauses, flashes 2 more times......for a total of 10 times.... then goes off and doesn't flash again until I press the "menu" and "device" buttons again. It then repeats the same sequence upon pressing "menu" and "device". This all began a few months ago when it was turned on after being used the previous night. No warning. It just quit. All the capacitors look good, no bulges. And no burnt resisters. Can anyone make any suggestions what else I should look for ? I am leaning towards a power supply problem. Thanks, Dwayne

ON EBAY, SELECT ADVANCED SEARCH, THEN SEARCH BY SELLER----sewsales55 is seller I use; Suburban Electronics in Maryland--they also have online catalog but the prices at EBAY are usually lower. Give me email and confirm actual model number. SD TECH

You can be pretty sure something's wrong with the power board. Defective capacitors may "look" OK but aren't. It could be helpful to lay your hands on a schematic.

Tv turns on and back off

Most of these sets have a self check----if Green power light comes on for a few seconds and goes off on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input (source) buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

Let me know if you get a error code and what it is.

Unplugging power from the set clears the error code so if that has been done you will have to try to turn set on, let it fail and then do the self check again.

When I push the on button the green light comes on for second or two then goes out.(will not stay turned on long enough to even get a picture on the screen.Mitsibishi Model # WS-55315

This set has a self check feature--if set has been unplugged it clears the error buffer--plug in and try to turn on set.

When green light comes on and then goes off ON THE FRONT OF THE SET press and hold BOTH the menu and input(device) buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a 2 digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat the code for a total of five times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will explain it.

Every time I turn my HD 1080 series Mitsubishi on 2 1/2 seconds later it turns off by itself

ok, a model number would be helpful but:

when set turns off and green power light goes out: on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and let both go.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

This is the error code and indicates where the problem may be---let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means.

Tv truns on then turns off

if model indicated do the self check it has:

On front of set when green light for power goes out press and hold both the menu and input (source) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

If set has been unplugged you must plug it back and try to get set to turn on--unplugging clears the errors.

Let me know what error you find and I will tell you what it means.

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then...

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

Will not turn on

ONE OF TWO THINGS HERE:

set turns on and green power light goes off in a few seconds, if this is the case on the front of set push and hold both menu and input buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Green power light will blink two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks----a pause and it will repeat error code for a total of 5 times.

If this is case let me know error code.

If green power light does not come on let me know.

You answer will dictate a response if you let me know here.

I am expert on Mitsubishi sets and know them well.

A 2-2 code on that unit means over current shutdown. 95% of the time that code indicates defective convergence output IC's.

No the DLP units can flash more than 8 times. 9 blinks mean Zero Crossing detector which means diode number D6166 or D6114 is open they are on the A board.Let me know if you need any further info.
