Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer
When i turn on the printer, it starts up however it stops all of a sudden and the light goes red. It won't print anything now either. It is a samsung CLP 300N printer.
I had the same or similar problem - the printer would sometimes print as many as two sheets before the outcoming sheet would stick at the top output roller (just before it goes into the output tray).
I tried dumping and cleaning out the waste toner canister also. It did not completely fix the problem but it is acting much better - I can now get 8-10 sheets through before it sticks at the top output roller.
I have had this printer over a year now and seem to remember having issues before where the recommendations was to buy a new canister instead of dumping out the used toner and re-using the current canister. I think I might go that route now that I seem to have resolved weird issues twice by dumping out this canister.

Okay, my printer isn't working as well. Same red light thing...same thing with turning it on or shutting the door (it makes the noise, all the little lights light up but then red light). I thought it needed a new black cartridge since I printed alot of black print in June (which is when it stopped printing). So I finally bought a new cartridge and put it in...nothing.
I've emptied the old toner holder thing and still nothing.
I took out all cartridges and shook them (gently) and still nothing.
I took out the whole middle thing of it that holds all of the cartridges and moved it from side to side...and nothing.
So what now?

Hey - I just had this exact problem - red light, about .5 seconds of happy, normal-start whirring after resetting, then a "chunk" sound and the red light. For the first few weeks I could get it to re-start after shaking the machine a bit, but it was getting harder and harder. Finally I looked up some trouble-shooting stuff and read about the "waste toner cartridge", which I'd never heard of before. After a few seconds of looking I found the darn thing and tapped in into the trash, and about 3 gallons of black toner dust fell out! As soon as I vaccuumed up the mess and popped the cartridge in again, the printer worked perfectly. Who knew? Seems awfully wasteful of toner to me!
