Do you have the original Linux operating system installed or have you reformatted with your own distribution such as Windows or another Linux OS?

Try this when u turn it on hold esc down and it will give you some options

or you can restore the op system by holding F 9 down and it will restore original os on your computer
look up system recovery section 6.8

Hope this helps
If you want to you can load Mandriva linux on the eeepc it works great

Gary

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Flashing start

This could be from the setup procedure in the Bios.
When you start the computer, hit DEL and see if you can open the Setup section. Look around for BOOT START whereby a command may be RUN TEST when Starting, or something like that reference. Just select Turn OFF or Stop, whatever command is showing. Go to F10 or save, and restart the computer. If that did not stop the problem, you may have to clear the BIOs completely and reset the data from scratch. Some computer BIOs allow for a reset to DEFAULT.

The hard drive has issues, or the window files are corrupt. I suggest a computer repair store to retrieve files and test hardware.

I have a dell mini 1012 will not boot, after the dell logo screen and blue bar is complete I get a black screen with a white cruser flashing in the upper left corner. This mini has no cd drive.

Do you happen to have either an external hard drive or usb flash drive plugged in? If so remove it and reboot, your computer is trying to boot off of it.
If no, enter BIOS and see if the computer is detecting your hard drive at all.
If no replace your hard drive and reinstall the OS, if it is detected...

Have a problem with Optiplex 755 where i got a virus and now i cant use f2 to get to seetings, i cant use f12 for boot options, and i must not have cd in boot order, because the win7 cd wont boot on...

You could take the CMOS battery out of the motherboard, unplug the power cord and hold the power button in for about 20-30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on without the battery in it and it should come up with the bios. Turn the machine back off and reinstall the battery. When you turn it back on you should be able to press F2 for setup or F12 for the boot menu.

When i turned on the leapfrog and asked me to log in my name it doesn't let me go in when i press it with the leapfrog pen

the screen needs to be re-calibrated. Do this: while powering on the Leapster, hold down the ? key. If it's been worn off, it's the round key on the left hand side above the t-arrow keys and it's the middle button. A new screen will come up that lists Base Info Cart 1 Info, Cart 2 Info, Cart 3 Info. In the right hand corner is a "A" that you can touch with pen beside it, it says "Touch Calib" Touch on that.It will say starting...then in the upper left hand corner there is a +. touch it with pen. it will move to bottom left hand corner. Touch it with pen. It will move to right bottom corner. touch with pen. It will move to upper right hand corner. Touch with pen. It will move to the center of the screen. Touch with pen. Repeat until you come back to the Base Info screen. You're DONE! Power off and on again and you should be all set! Good luck!!

Eeepc has no icons, just blue screen, can't access anything! Linux

When I was using Linux, there were 4 screens. On the bottom an icon showed which screen I was on. If you have that Icon, click the main screen (upper left) and you should be OK. Let me know if this works.

Did the HDD light flash ? also check battery may be bad, CMOS need info to talk to the drives before booting up, also is your copy of windows legal? XP and later Microsoft gives you 5 tries and windows goes bye bye, also no antivirus prog. master boot record may be corrupted. and only other thing back to O/S is linux( open source) . unles CMOS chip died.

DELL GX260 bootup problem

To start with I would run FDSIK from a DOS boot disk and delete the partitions on the hard drive. Then reload the operating system. There is no telling what has been loaded on the system. After the reload the DELL should boot normally.
