I have an older kenmore dryer. i want to disconnect the signal buzzer. can i do that?

Since there is no switch to turn off the signal on the dryer, you would need to unplug the laundry centerand disconnect one or both wires that are connected to the dryer buzzer. The buzzer is shown as Key 38 in the first image below. The procedure for accessing the buzzer in this type of laundry center is provided in the second image below. You would need to insulate any wires disconnected from the buzzer with electrical tape or a wire nut to prevent them from shorting to the dryer cabinet. You should only conduct this procedure if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely complete the process. Be sure to unplug the laundry center before accessing internal components. Internal metal edges can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended.

On the Kenmore 70 series, can the buzzer be disconnected? Our 5 month old gets startled each time that damn dryer buzzes (It seems like it last forever!)

Hi, did you try turning the buzzer off with the knob on the right side of the operation panel (which is also used as the start button)? If you turn that knob to the left, it should turn off the buzzer.

If it still buzzes, the switch behind that knob may be faulty. You can get at it by removing the panel at the rear of the dryer (6 screws) and then you can test it and adjust its internal contacts if need be.

Hope that helps!

PLEASE HELP! Dryer cuts off and gives an E68 code.

e68 code

this is a fault code that means there is a stuck key on the board you may have to remove the control panel and check the keys if this does not work you may have to replace the panel or control board

Good luck

Turn off buzzers

I had the same problem and the buzzer was one of the worst sounds ive heard. But, I found the buzzer and turned it off for good. Open the front panel and look for a small part in between the 2 main curcuit boxes.I have a Fridgidare stackable combo FLEB8200FSO. On mine this small part is number 144547100. Look for two black wires, one goes to H and the other to C. Disconnect both wires and no more buzzer!! Good Luck

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.
