Pull the sd card out and look on the left side with the card facing you. You will see a slide switch on the left side. It is probably in the down position (locked). Move the switch up and the card will be unlocked. Done!

The problems ("memory card locked") that may arise due to several factors such as the following:

1.try using a 4GB SDHC card with an old camera that was made before the SDHC format out.
solution: replace it with the appropriate memory card

2. problems with the buttons on the side of the card, and an internal switch to the camera.
solution:There is a white sliding button "ON" the side of your memory card, slide up up to "UNLOCK" the memory card

3. or the problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has not been formatted in the camera (this will delete the contents of the card).
solution: you will have to reformat the card. WARNING: THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA ON THE MEMORY CARD!!! So make sure you connect it to the computer ASAP and copy all of your data over that you want to keep. Then through the menus on the camera, reformat the memory card

hope that helps
have anice day :)

Help with unlock memory card locked problem on Canon PowerShot SX120 IS

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I get a "Card locked"

Move the tiny slide switch on the side of the card to its other position. Also, you should only be deleting pictures from your card using your camera's delete or format functions. Deleting from the computer may eventually corrupt your card. For more info, see this link.

SD (and SDHC) cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Some cameras cannot handle over 2GB memory cards. If it works fine with 2GB card - stick to that. If some other A620 you know operates with 4GB card, take yours to repairs.

A second SD card has now corrupted !

What brand cards are you using. I've had a Sandisc 2 ultra II in mine nor for about a year and never had a problem. before that had a 1gb Kingston and again no problems. after every download I always format the card to start it freash so i'm always using that same part of the card.

If you don't format often i'd do so. You don't need to do a low level every time, i do mine about every 10th downlaod

Card locked canon powershot sd750

Check the switch on the side of your SD memory card. It is a small sliding switch which has a lock position. Sounds like the switch is in the "locked" position. Unlock, reload card, & you should be good to go. If not, the card is probably damaged.
