Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

You can, in most cases, connect a Wireless router to your POS and let your provider know the MAC address of the device and then go from there for setting up your network. If you don't wish to replace your current router you can connect the wireless router to the current LAN router and establish a wireless network from there. Make sure you set up WEP or WPA security on your Wireless network to keep other people from hacking or using it without your knowledge. This is normally the only requirement Service Providers place users establishing a wireless network.

1. check if you have cloned the MAC address in the either the Advanced or basic setup page.
2. After verification of the MAC clone restart the router
3. after router is restart then log in to the router >> go to status page and verify IP Adress.
If no ip address from cable modem then pwer cycle the cable modem >> then power cycle the router.

I have a dell Vostro 200..I want to go wireless with a Airport, Just got a Mac with the airport, will this work?

The airport is just a receiver that picks up wireless signals.

If you want your computer to pick up wireless, you need a wireless
router, and a wireless card that goes into the computer so it can see the router and get the signals.

There are tons of wireless products, and it depends on the slots you have on which kind of wireless card you get.

I cant seem to pick up a very strong signal. Do i need an antenna booster?

There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.
1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from walls and if possible locate the wireless router higher up.
2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? Ie. change the default password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router.
3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arid welders, washing machines etc. If so the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply)
4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interference with your wireless router from other wireless routers and access points in your area.
