I have a Ford 963 tractor was using it two days ago to pull some stumps. Today I fire it up,put it in gear and nothing. Tractor only moves enough to confirm that it is in gear. Forward reverse

check clutch adjustment
pulling stumps requires savage clutch operations so you make have damaged the clutch plates
check also that the ratio lever is fully engaged and that it has not gone to neutral position

I have a ford 3000 tractor that when you put it in gear and let the clutch out it wont move but if you press the rear differentil lock pedal it will go

You either have one of your rear axles spline stripped or broke, or side diff gear. The diff lock will lock both axles together and pull it self stripped or not. The diff lock will make tractor pull itself but only one wheel is pulling the tractor at this time. Determine which wheel is pulling and which one is not with diff lock on. The one not pulling is the broken side. Disassemble and repair.

Case tractor problems

The clutch plate is worn out and needs replaced. They are a pain to change so replace the throw out bearing at the same time because they are inexpensive and it is cheap insurance of not having to do the job again.

I have just fitted a new transmission belt to my westwood 1012, it will go into gear when the motor is off but when the motor is running the gears will not engage when the clutch is pressed

You've probably put the belt on incorrectly or not put the clutch wheel or spring back correctly. When you press the clutch a jockey wheel on the drive belt should release the tension, allowing the belt to slip and the gears to be engaged.

I press in the clutch but i cant put it in gear wont even move a hair

Well it could be that the Master Sullinoid Cyllinder is not engaging the clutch. More than likely in my experience its not a good sign. if you know a good mechanic, I would suggest having them look at it and see what they recommend.

You dont want to have to get a new transmition and if the fluids in the transmition are low and this pressure plate wont engage, dont chance it.

A new transmition is upwards of $1700.00 just for the transmition.

Yardman LT1238 stuck in gear

All the clutch does is to remove belt tention by moving an idler pulley, so with the machine stopped, depress the clutch pedal and watch the idler pulley moving away from the belt, and the belt should become slack, if not check all the linkages, if the belt remains tight and the idler has moved away, then replace the belt, it is very important to have the correct belt lenght,

I can't get the gear shift to stay in place, it pops out

sounds like your clutch is bad... usually refered to as slipping clutch, meaning that when you put the stick in gear and take your foot off the clutch it slips outta gear
