I am not sure if you can change the region of your DVD player, but there is a way around it. You can make your DVD region free by copying them using a certain software. It will remove copy protection and make them region free. You use it on your computer and it runs in the background allowing your normal copy software to copy any DVD reguarless of copy protection. I have been using this for years and it works great. They also have copy software that give you complete control over what is copied, but that is not required, but it does help to amke higher quality copies by removing the previews and such so ther is more room for the movie. I wish I had a better answer, but this will work in removing the region codes so it will play on any DVD player. Here is a link to get that software, you can try it for 21 days free before you but it to see if it is something you like.

Although the Panasonic Home Theater systems are great when they work properly. If your machine displays the "f61" error message, it's likely to be little more than a paper weight for the average person. The inner workings of the machine are rather complex to disassemble for diagnostics. And can take several hours to check all the components. The best advice I can give you is to sell the machine on e-bay as a broken item. If you offer shipping you can get more money for a complete system (speakers & all).

The system region control is a function of the software on the DVD player. I don't believe there is a way to change the region settings on most DVD players. You can however convert your DVDs with software available online. One program is called "DVD Region & Css Free" and is available for a small price. That is perhaps one way you could approach your problem. Otherwise look for a player that will play discs from other regions.
