My dryer is working and it is drying (It has heat) however, it will just stop in mid cycle. Im not sure if its overheating or if that is even an issue. But if I wait about 5 minutes and then hit start again, it will continue to dry until it shuts off again. It usually does this several times before the load is completely dry.

Patricia, we apologize that you have had such challenges with your Frigidaire Affinity Dryer. I would suggest double-checking a few things. First, let's check the lint filter area. Let's ensure that there is no thick lint or lint residue. The next item we need to check is the ducting that leads outside, and outside where the ducting exits, to make sure that nothing is clogged with lint or any other obstructions.

If the air flow is being blocked, this could cause your dryer to take a long time to dry or stop mid-cycle. If this is the case, it could potentially cause overheating, which could cause the dryer to stop mid-cycle as a safety precaution.

If you find that there are no blockages or lint residue, you have additional options: First, ask your repairman to contact the manufacturer while diagnosing your dryer to check and double-check that nothing has been overseen in regards to resolving these issues. Secondly, you are always welcome to contact the manufacturer directly and see what other resolutions may be available to you.

-Best regards -

The gas dryer heats then does not heat. The sensor says 99 minutes to dry close. Tried it on timed heat and it dries then stops drying. Sometimes shutting off completely!

Hello,Cheack to make sure your venting is clean and clear..If its blocked the safty thermostat will shut the heat down to prevent overheating.. If the vent is clean i would check the coils. When they start to fail it will heat then not cycle back on..

You may be experiencing "Heat Retention" by stopping your dryer mid-cycle, which you should NOT ever have to do! If you have a minor vent restriction or if you open the dryer mid-cycle when the heat is on, this will cause a disruption in the airflow and rising temperatures can keep the dryer from restarting until it has been cooled long enough.
Check your vent all the way to the outside for restrictions/obstructions every 6 months. Clean your lint filter after each load and DO NOT stop the dryer mid-cycle!
Note: Stopping the dryer mid-cycle can also cause severe burns and even melt polyester fibers.
