Need help I have a saab 93 convertable 2.0 i non turbo 1998 model drive belt has gone dont know where to find the ajuster to put the belt on. And a diagrame to see how it goes on.Regards James.

Here is a link to a Dayco PDF file that will have a belt diagram for you. Find you car on the main page, fine the number to the diagram and thats how you belt routes. Depends on month of manufacture yours could have 2 guide or tensioner pulleys. Facing the engine, one should be the top left pulley, that one is common to all. The optional tensioner will be the next pulley to the right. If one is missing it may have fallen off and you may be able to run a shorter belt.

Is their a picture diagram of how to replace dryer belt on maytay dryer model LDE9824ACE?

Maytag belts are counter intuitive. They give me trouble even though I've done hundreds of them. Your model should look like the one in the picture below. I assume you know how to get to the belt but if not there are 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel you remove. Then lift the bottom of the panel up and out and it will come off. You will have to undo some other brackets to get to the drum

The belt goes on 'upside down' on maytag, meaning that the tread faces up. You should be able to see where the old belt was riding from the marks on the drum, just make sure it doesn't slip into the groove. Put it back together and undo the panel on the back, you should see this.

That should be enough to show you where it goes. Pull the pulley over to release the tension and align the belt as shown. Replace the cover and enjoy your dryer.

Cheers

Are you sure that you hooked the belt up correctly, as it sounds like you may have missed the tensioner pulley. As this will tighten the belt around the middle of the drum

Changing the belt

goes around idler pulley and motor. idler pulley fits into slots on bottom of dryer and the belt tension holds it in place. looking at it from the front and going clockwise the belt goes around the drum and then around the motor pulley and thru the idler pulley. in fact if you put the bottom loop of the belt thru the pulley from the left you then loop it around the motor pulley.

How do you replace the drum belt on a Maytag DE610 dryer ?

OK, this one's a few years old. First, of course, disconnect power to the machine. Second, remove the two phillips head screws, one at L and one at R near the bottom corners of the front panel. Third, pull the bottom of the front panel toward you and unhook it from the dryer's top. Swing it to the side. You do not have to disconnect the wires to the door switch. Fourth, remove the four 5/16 hex head screws holding the drum supports and set it aside. Fifth, put belt around the drum. The smooth side of the belt touches the drum. Sixth, belt goes to the motor drive pulley and then around the belt tensioning idler pulley. Seventh, put the drum support part back on and turn the drum by hand to make sure the belt tracks OK and has no twists in it. Eighth, finish reassembly and test. Note: genuine Maytag belts usually have installation instructions on the back of the package, with a couple diagrams.

How do you put the belt on a 1996 dryer belt? The pulley had fallen to the bottom of the dryer and now we are unsure of where it is originally supposed to be.

Hi 815carey,
That is a hard thing to describe with out a diagram but I will try my best for you. First thing would be to put the belt around the motor. then take the idler pulley and pull it back and put it under both parts of the belt. This will supply the tension you need to keep the belt tight. If you are having trouble getting the the pulley inplace I would need to know the brand of dryer. In most cases if it fell off it is a whirlpool or a whirlpool made Kenmore. It that case the idler will mount directly underneath the shaft of the dryer just slightly to the left of the pulley on the motor. I really hope this helped you. mca0824

Replacing maytag dryer belt

looking at the back of the motor where the belt pulley is you would grasp belt coming down from the left side of drum then come across the top of belt pulley that is on motor shaft going clockwise around that pulley then continue back to your left and over the top of belt tension pulley going counterclockwise around that pulley this is when you will have to raise pulley against spring pressure to get belt on then release belt tension pulley make sure that belt is still in belt groove on the drum hope this helps ed
