Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

I have a GE Hydroheater washing machine. For the past few months I have had to restart it atleast once or twice during a wash cycle because it would stop in the middle of a cycle for no apparant reason. Today, it will spin twice, then shut off (it says Door Unlocked), and it won't let me restart it. It only does the same thing. It goes around twice, once in each direction, then stops and says the door is open. Please help! What do I do? I even took the laundry out and tried to make it work with nothing in it, thinking the blanket was too heavy, but still does the same thing while it's empty. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Joyce

After working well for six months, my washer now expels water at random points during the wash and rinse cycles.

Check inside the fill hose for debris. There is a screen designed to block debris from getting inside the machine valve. If the screen builds up with debris the water slows down. Sounds like the water is filling too slow. Also the unit and/or the load may not be balanced causing it to stop and drain out. If it's okay then see what lights are blinking when these events occur and post here.

GE Adora Frontload Washer shredding clothes

We were having the same problems with ripped clothing and longer cycles. Our rubber seal by the door has ripped twice now causing massive amounts of water to run out. I learned through other threads that many people are having these problems and was told that zipping up zippers and turning jackets and clothing with big heavy stuff on them in side out to protect from ripping the clothing and the rubber seal. I removed the panel on the front bottom of the machince and there is a small gray cover that housed the coin trap. Mine was clogged and once I cleared that out, my cycle times got better. I hope this was somewhat helpful. We definitely won't be purchasing another GE front loader!!

I have the same model # and same problem!!!
Worked fine for few months and then it started.
Sears technicians came twice but couldn't fix the problem. Now they have ordered a new dispenser door. Sears said they changed the design. Will see if the new door will work. Hope that helps.
