Question about Char-Broil CharBroil 4637318 Grill

I bought an already assembled grill and they didn't give me the instruction manual. want to add the coals but its open to the bottom is there a plate that is suppose to go on the bottom

I have a brand new Weber 670S and put it together....the ignition will fire and I get a 6 inch flame, but the burners don't light....and the flame goes out when I release the knob...


Since the main burners and the rear infrared burner (if so equipped) comes already installed, I don't think your assembling it is the problem. It's probably the grill's gas regulator that is giving you the problem. That's assuming you are following the manual's instructions on how to light the burners, the first time. For now, Ill assume you did. If you open the gas tank valve to fast, it shoots high pressure to the regulator & locks it up.

So, to solve the problem, follow the directions below:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly (It's 's not under warranty). It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Coals are smouldering but they are not getting hot. getting a lot of smoke but temp not moving up. top and bottom vents are open all the way.


If you are rting to use the Egg as a grill instead of a smoker. The coals will heat up quickly if you raise the lid and leave it open. The way you were trying to do it is for smoking or baking not grilling. Leave the bottom vent open until the coals are really hot, then damper it down a little.

How do you condition a new grill?


Start some coals with the grate off the grill. As the coals are heating up, coat the grate in *vegetable* shortening using a paper towel. Place the grate back on the grill over the hot coals and cover. Allow the coals to burn off; this process will coat the grate with a protective layer of oil.

You might also consider running the grate through a burnoff process BEFORE curing to remove any coating the manufacturer used for protection during shipping. To do this, burn some coals for roughly 30 minutes under the grate with the lid down, let cool, then condition per previous instructions.

Cooking a whole chicken / lamb roast


Good Evening, I love cooking with Charcoal/Wood. The bottom vents will adjust the temp, closed the coals burn slower and cooler. The top vents also control the temp, however more importantly the flavor by keeping the smoke in or out. With a roast you want low heat so I would close the bottom vents 1/2 way or so and since i like a smokey flavor of Hickory would keep the top vents closed. The key to a good Barbeque none the less is slow cooking. It also takes fine tuning, wind, breezes all effect how fast/hot the coals burn. Don't be afraid to add more coals as needed as well. First time user and its taking a long time for coals to get hot. when cooking is the vent open on top?


yes it's allways open some and you keep the bottom open also.. 1/2 way on both. If your meat is 1 inch or less keep the cover off 2" or more keep it on...2inch or less coals under and 2" and thicker or whole birts/fish/roasts coals to both sides not under.4 inch wide x10 in long 3 in deep inch piles..

Forgot how many coals to use for Weber 18 inch grill


as much as it takes to cover the bottom of the grill that is under the food..ex..if grill is covered with food then make sure the bottom is covered and spread out evenly. If just two types of meat make sure the bottom under them have coals not necessary to cover whole bottom..if any help please rate me and let me know..

Low temperature


I have the same smoker but not this problem. Is it possible that you have not let the coal get hot enough prior to putting your meat in it. When I feel that the temp is not hot enough I try to leave a little crack with the lid to allow air to flow from bottom to top stoking the coal. When you get the nack of it, this thing cooks an awesome turkey.

Have a brinkman all in one smoker but no instructions on how to use it


Put the briquettes in the bottom pan and put the wood chips around the outside edge. Put water in the top pan. All this must be done before you light the charcoal. Using an electric lighter works best and won't change the flavor of your food like starter fluid will. After coals are lit, place meat on rack and seal everything up. Now you're Smokin'!
