It's supposed to run down the little gray stand pipe and down the tube to the drain. But, if it's going over the side them the unit is probably not level or there's too much water? The tray migh have warped a little? The exact model number would help me diagnose.

The water control valve is shot. It's not making ice because there is a constant flow of water into the ice tray. Shut the water off at the feed point for the fridge for now. If the drain gets plugged you're going to have a small catastrophe on your hands.
Make sure water line valve is turned on where it taps in to water line, and that ice shut off is down not up, check to see if water is in ice tray or if it is dry if no water or ice is present then water is not getting to it if water tap valve is open then water valve in ice maker is off or ice shut off arm is up instead of down. Try pouring warm water in ice tray see if that will get it started.
is your bin line and dump line tied together if so it could be just ice melting. If not can you here water filling up constantly while machine is off? if so is it running over sump tray into ice bin. if dump valve was stuck open then machine will not make ice.
Is the bin drain line and dump drain line tied together. If so then it is melting ice from the bin. now when ice machine starts up it will dump the old water in sump tray so it will be fresh water during new freeze cycle.
Check water supply and pressure is. o.k (behind the fridge). The ice maker water solenoid is located at the lower rear of the refrigerator.Disconnect the tubing that goes up to the ice maker, and wait for it to cycle. You may have to cycle it manually. If the solenoid buzzes but no water comes out, the solenoid is bad. Replace thesolenoid. (Solenoid will get energized only when previous ice made cubes are not disturbing the shut off arm. Hence make sure you have emptied the ice bucket)
Good Day, Three possibilities. 1. The water valve on the back of the machine has failed. 2. The file tube from the back of the machine to the ice maker has iced up. 3. Water supply blocked, or shut off. P.S. In very rare occasions the microswitch in the ice maker fails not telling the water valve to open
