Just bought Belling Chest Freezer Model BCM31 as old one was thick with ice, but new one is frosting up very quickly as well above food line. Is this normal? Setting is right in the middle.

Open the lid and using a spirit level check that the unit is flat and that its not "twisted" then using an a4 piece of paper check that the lid sits flat all round with no air leaks (the most common cause of chest freezers frosting up)if you have one, a freezer thermometer is a good investment, as you can set the unit to run at -18C,the optimum temp,,,

Fast freeze light on all the time is this right new belling 100 ltr chest freezer

No check your settings. You may try to unplug it for about a minute and then restart. If that doesn't work, call the mfr. they should help since it is new.

Lost manual and need to defrost

This is likely a manual defrost freezer, which means you have to remove the food, unplug the unit, and let the ice melt on its own. Do not, and i repeat, DO NOT poke the ice away from the walls. I guarantee if you poke the ice away from the wall, you'll poke a hole in the wall, and force yourself to buy a new freezer.

SLOWER IS SAFER. put some boiling water, in the pot, inside the freezer, or use a hair dryer.

Frosting up in the freezer and not cooling in the food compartment kenmore 363.9557852

It sounds like you have a defrost problem.

All the cooling for both sections takes place in the freezer behind the back wall. A fan back there distributes the cold air throughout the freezer and fresh food section. Every 8 - 10 hours a heater comes on for about 20 minutes to eliminate the frost from the evaporator coils back there. If this defrost cycle fails the frost will build up to a point of no air flow so the fresh food side and most of the freezer start to warm up.

The best way to take care of this is to turn it off and unload the freezer, take the shelves out and the screws holding the back panel inside the freezer out. Remove the back panel from the freezer. Use hot water and a hair dryer to unthaw the ice and frost, you will need lots of towels as the melting will bring lots of water on to the floor. Once the frost is gone you will need to install this part WR51X443. The picture below shows it. The kit contains new heaters and thermostat.

Freezer builds up frost and ice too quickly.

Either the door gasket is not sealing well or the unit is low in refrigerant.

Ice builds up inside packages in freezer.

This is the moisture coming out of the food. It is what causes freezer burn.

The problem is made worse in frost free models by the defrost cylce. Best way to slow it down is to use vacuum bags or freezer bags. Also above 0 F food deterioates faster and below it gets freezer burn and the moisture problem faster.

Kenmore 12 Chest Freezer - Needs New Lid

All you need is the model number

It gives you a list of all parts you can buy to replace what's broken, as for the frost try placing a sheet of plastic over the insulation, under the the plastic cover to keep moisture and humidity out of the insulation.
