When using my dryer i notice that my windows are steamed up why is this?

What is the dryer doing? drying your clothes right? so the clothes are wet and as the dryer goes round and round the fan which is attached to the drum ( which holds the clothes) is pushing hot air into it. the vent in the front or the lint trap sucks hair lint debris from going up the exhaust chute. so "steamy" windows is when the dryer exhaust is not vented to take the moist warm air out of the house and raises the humidity level to condensate on the windows giving the steamy look. which is a great way to heat and bring humidity into the house during the dry winter months.

Why is the metal screen with round holes located in my dryer drum melting some clothes and leaving its impression on those clothes. My appliance is a Frigidaire gas dryer model # LAQG7011KBO.

The metal screen is the place where the heat from the dryer enters the drum. If the dryer is melting items, you have one of two possible issues:
  • The dryer thermostats are allowing the dryer to get too hot.
  • You are drying delicate clothes on too high of a heat setting.

My dryer run all day and night if I would let it.And it takes one day to dry my clothes what is wrong with it

If it gets hot or warm in the drum but the clothes do not dry---the most common cause is a blockage between the drum, lint tube in the unit to the vent that flows the air to the exhaust outside.

If the drum gets much hotter than the air exiting the vent----clean all the from the drum to OUTSIDE.

Note: if there is not proper airflow and a lint build up exists there is the potential for a fire---Hundreds of fires are reported each year cause by this kind of trouble.

If the drum does not get hot inside you may have a bad igniter that heats the air (fires the burner uo inside the unit.)

How do you dry on this machine? if you dry on the green, does it completely dry?

The automatic preheat and drying cycle kicks in as the final wash spin is under- way. The system employs a condenser dryer in which the hot air used to dry the clothes is channeled into a drum, instead of being released into the great outdoors via a dry vent hose. Cold water is drawn into the drum at the same time. The two mix, and the result is a condensing process.

The chlothes should be dry. there may be a damp feeling to them but otherwise dry. If your machine is not drying then the element could be going bad, or a thermal cutoff. those would be the easyiest fixes.

The BIG drawback is drying. It takes about 90 minutes to dry a load, and the clothes come out very wrinkled. Because the drum is so small, the clothes don't 'toss' in heated air and don't fluff at all. Clothes also come out stiffer than a regular dryer.

Dyer really hot, not drying clothes

Is the dryer tumbling? If not, you may have a broken belt or some other drive assembly issue.

Also, turn the dryer on and go outside to the vent discharge - you should feel air coming out at a pretty good clip. If not, the vent line is obstructed and will need to be cleaned out.

Vent going away from the dryer is stopped up full of lint or the vent tubing is collapsed causing the hot wet air to remain in your dryer.

Clothes not drying

A couple of possibilities to check. First, is the lint trap empty? If so, then the symptoms point to hot air bypassing the drum. Look for broken or misaligned plastic ducting inside the dryer itself. Check the exhaust air for moisture, as that is a better indicator than temperature. Don't forget that towels hold an enormous amount of water, & can be extremely long in drying, especially if not spun enough.
