How do i get a cd player to hook up to a sansui au 9900a amplifier as well as the sansui tu 9900 tuner

You can connect the CD player to the amplifier using a standard set of RCA cables (left and right channel / red & white connectors). Connect the CD output to an input on the amplifier (usually one designated for CD or possibly "Aux") Then select this input source in order on the Amplifier.

There would be no reason to connect the CD player to a Tuner. Not even sure a tuner whould have any inputs in order to connect a CD player.

I am thinking of replacing my now very old JVC AX 330 amplifier with a Marantz PM7003 amplifier and want to know if this is a suitable replacement in terms of power output etc.

You, sir, are a rare adherent to stereo-only electronics. Are you replacing it for cause (showing its age)? The PM7003 is only 2 x 70 watts like the JVC but it also has separable preamp/amps so you COULD upgrade or augment the power output with external amps and still control it all locally.

Of course, any current AVR's do that too and bring digital sources and multichannel audio to the mix for as little as the PM7703 may cost.

Sanaui stereo integrated amplifier A-3100 I have to seperate hook-ups for speakers A&B. When i try to hook a third speaker in the B inputs one of the speakers in the A portion stops functioning. I am...

You're going to surround yourself with a smoke effect if you insist on presenting too low an impedance load to the amp. Add the speakers in series if you must add them at all.

I imagine if you look really close at the back it might say what the minimum impedance is.

Off of the top of your head could you tell me what my problem with my sansui AU-717 amps problem could possibly be? When I am playing a cd if the volume is even barely loud the sound will go out then I...

It sounds like one of the following:
> You have an impedance miss-match between your speakers and the amp (speakers have am Ohm rating lower than the amp can handle),
> You have the switch set to both A&B speakers turned on, but have speakers connected to either the A or B set, but not both, or
> You have both A & B (4 speakers) connected, and one or both have an Ohm rating lower than 8 (if two sets are connected, they must be 8 or higher).

My best guess off the top of my head.

Proper procedure for hook up to Au 719 sansui amp

This is an integrated amplifier so you connect both of your speakers to the speaker outputs making sure that you keep them in phase. Red or plus terminal on speaker to red or plus terminal on Amp and the same with the other channel. Then connect your input devices as they are marked on the rear of the amp. You didn't mention what devices you are trying to connect to it so give additional info if you need more help.

I own a classic Sansui intergrated amplifier (AU-717). It has a short in one channel. At low volume, the sound shorts out. I've had this unit for about 20 years now. Otherwise, it's a great product!

Hi mellemcee

Cool amp mate, and becoming collectable now to. Sansui amps from the era where the best in the world of HiFi. iT may have lost bias control to the offending channel, it may have dirty source switches, tape monitor switch, or even speaker switching. The speaker protection relay may also have a dirty contact, will usually burst back into life with a quick rotation of the vol control. Can you pin the problem down a little more with the info i have given you, try all the controls to see if it impacts on operations, you will need to fix those problems first. Low bias would make that channel sound distorted at low levels also. Is this what is happening to you??

Graeme

I have a Sansui AU-717 Integrated Amplifier that needs some work done on it. Is there a Sansui service center in Washington State that can work on this?

This company is not like they used to be. You can try the links below to see if you can find authorized service for your set.

I would personaly suggest to find a service center or a very good local tech who can do audio amplifier and reciever service.

Try rick at stereomanuals.com
The shutdown would be from a voltage supply in the power amp seeing too heavy a load and "shutting down" so that the amp doesnt Fry
