GE 52 inch projection tv picture is dancing

First a couple of things:

1) Could you please try to describe the picture a bit. Is it curved toward the center from the top and bottom?

2) Can you please update this with the model number?

With the description thus far, I suspect a few bad connections in the convergence circuit, but with the info requested above, I should be able to confirm that and provide you with some repair options.

Hope to hear back soon.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi, have a 50 inch rear projection Mitsubishi. The problem is that the picture is curved and some of the words around the edges are doubled. Its most noticeable when watching sports because the score board...

power transistors in the convergence circuits on this series TV go bad after several years, making the wavy lines around the edge of the screen and 'doubling' of the edges of the text in varied colors which do not converge. Professional repair is required unless you are brave enough to tackle the project yourself and follow some rather simple instructions, buy a few tools from Radio Shack, and save yourself about $500 bucks...which I did on my own 42" Panasonic rear projection set.

Shrinked picture of 29 inch television.

It is a pincushion problem. There is a bad cap and or a bad diode in the horzontal section.
