The procedure to restore from recovery disk will vary according to which computer you have. Usually you insert the recovery disc in CD / DVD drive after selecting boot sequence 1 from CD/DVD in Bios. You then push the power on button. Once windows boots from recovery CD it will continue with building up the new hard drive.
Friends i have seen thousand of laptop cd/dvd rom stops working very soon. then the quesion is how you do intall your os if it was corrupted. follow my tip and install windows7 or vista in very simple way.
a) first insert your usb flash drive or hdd in usb port b) then open commandprompt from accessories with rightclick run as administrator c) you must know what is drive letter of your usb flash drive. d) type DISKPART in command prompt and press enter e) then type LISTDISK in command prompt f) Next type all the below commands one by one. Here I assume that your disk drive no is “Disk 1”.If you have Disk 2 as your USB flash drive then use Disk 2.Refer the above step to confirm it.
So below are the commands you need to type and execute one by one:
SELECT DISK 1
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
(Format process may take few seconds)
g) Next insert your Windows7/Vista DVD into the optical drive and check the drive letter of the DVD drive. In this guide I will assume that your DVD drive letter is “D” and USB drive letter is “H” (open my computer to know about it).
h) Maximize the minimized Command Prompt in the 4th step.Type the following command now:
D: CD BOOT and hit enter.Where “D” is your DVD drive letter.
CD BOOT and hit enter to see the below message.
i) Type another command given below to update the USB drive with BOOTMGR compatible code.
BOOTSECT.EXE /NT60 H: J) Copy your Windows 7/Vista DVD contents to the USB flash drive.
Eject the usb drive and select first boot device usb drive or usb hdd in motherboards bios.
first make sure that the drive is installed properly. I would advise you to install it from the manufacturer's site. Let me know if you need the installation files.
Also, it can help if you can let me know if it reads any other discs- like regular discs. Try several different types- burned cd and dvd discs, brand new discs, original discs etc. If installing it doesn't help and the drive will not read any kinds of discs, you will have to return the laptop to the store where you bought it, or try to return it to the manufacturer, maybe they can replace the drive.
Right click on my computer icon then click on property then ->hardware ->device manager
then check there is any cd/ dvd drive showing in list. If you can see your cd /dvd driver then uninstall it. then restart computer. But if you cant seen then you need to refix your cd dvd rom. For that pull your cd drive from laptop but make sure there is 1 lock system near rom just press that lock and pull drive then refix it.
When you first start the machine, you need to go into the boot menu and boot from CD drive, or go into bios/utilities set up and set the boot order to boot from CD first. Make sure your XP CD is in the drive, then just follow the prompts.
PLEASE TRY TO BOOT UR LAPTOP WITH A BOOTABLE CD AND IF IT BOOTS THEN U HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE OPERATING SYSTEM AND U NEED TO FORMAT UR LAPTOP.AND IF IT DOSENT BOOT THEN UR CD OR DVD ROM IS FAULTY AND U NEED TO CHANGE IT.
