Question about Fujitsu Computers & Internet

Hello, I have a Fujitsu Lifebook (P1510D, Build #: 3PIN0) purchased circa 2005, running Windows XP. My antivirus software removed a trojan that had attached itself to a file associated with brightness control. As a result, I lost the ability to control the brightness level through the keyboard shortcuts (Fn + F6, Fn + F7). (However, I can control the brightness via the desktop icon.) Additionally, for some reason, the tablet buttons on the bottom of the screen's frame (the ones that control screen display orientation and can be customized to call applications) will not work either, and the screen display orientation will not change when I fold down the screen into tablet form. I have downloaded the following drivers from the Fujitsu site and have installed them after uninstalling the existing drivers, rebooting, etc: Fujitsu_Button_Utilities_Update_V1.0.0.1 P1510D_05SUM_BUTTONDRIVER_FUJITSU_V1.1.1223.2004_XP P1510D_05SUM_BUTTONUTIL_FUJITSU_V1.00.0617.2005_XP P1510D_05SUM_HOTKEY_FUJITSU_V2.5.0.0_XP TOUCHPANEL_FUJITSU_V1.0.1.3_XP When the computer boots up, 2 windows pop up with the following errors (no error code numbers appear): "Fujitsu display controls:Error accessing registry. The application will now terminate." "Fujitsu Button Server: Button HID collection could not be located. Button server will now terminate." When I come out of standby mode, I get the following error window: "Fujitsu display controls: Error accessing registry. The application will now terminate." I have the feeling that my antivirus program removed/corrupted a registry setting or file, and that for some reason, reinstalling the drivers did not correct the setting. Possibly a registry folder got removed, and the driver can't reset the value in a folder if that folder does not exist. I spent a long time on the phone with Fujitsu tech support--to no avail. I tried to reach a tier 3 tech support person and was told that none exists. I've been working with this on and off for a few months, and its getting frustrating. Any ideas?

How do i use recovery cd's if i have no cd rom drive? i have an external cd/dvd drive plugged into usb port but the fujitsu 1510d lifebook does not recognise it? thanks dave

When you boot your computer, start up your BIOS, then under the boot menu, make sure USB is listed as the 1st option.

To log into your BIOS, press the "Boot Option" key. It might be F1, F2 or Delete

Got a cx 2610 it has no o/s no cd drive no driver

Yes you will be able to reinstall Windows xp if you het a new hard drive and a cdrom that works for this laptop. You can also try a external cdrom

Try doing a system defragmentation, your programs may be so fragmented that loading time is impaired. Also clean up the hard drive by doing a Disk cleanup. Both of these tools are in the popup menu on the start page under the Accessories menu and then the System Tools menu.

install other antivirus there are many antivirus available ...
for example : avast antivirus,(home edition is free for downloading and registering online ...)
you can download the trojan remover from some of these sites(if you are sure it s the trojan ...)

Lifebook P1510D network connection

i had the same problem, i had to install the updates on the "drivers and applications restore cd".  however that didnt work. so i had to download the 1.030 driver from the fujitsu web site.  this worked. but when i tried to calibrate the tablet i was not able to get it aligned. 
there used to be 2 different programs for updating the tablet, but now i cannot find the other one.

I deleted a dll file for my omnipass

Try booting up into safemode.

Reboot your pc.
Keep pressing F8 before you see the windows logo.
If you did it right, you should come to a screen where you can select Safemode.

If that doesn't work call Fujitsu support and ask for a recovery disk.
