Stations do not stay programmed

I have tried following the wiring schematic into my 1998 Honda Passport but I am unable to keep the radio stations programmed. Any thoughts? I know I am missing something just not sure what?

Radio stations keep resetting.

There are 2 battery feeds to the radio.

The Main one via the Ignition Switch . This is used to switch the radio ON

The other is a permanently connected battery feed that retains the radio memory features...ie..the code and the radio station settings.

It looks as though it is this permanent battery feed that is missing.

Check the fuses and the connectors/wiring at the rear of the radio

if you don't have all the power wires hooked up it won't save the stations, you should have a low volt wire just for memory status.

Stored radio stations and time erase when car is turned off

The radio was installed incorrectlly. Make sure the red wire from the radio is connected to a switched 12 volt source(has voltage when car is on, none when it's off) The yellow wire to a constant 12 volt(hot at all times) this wire mantains the radio memory and must always have power.

Jvc car cd/radio

The radio was improperly installed; there are two 12V leads, one services the radio when on, the other, only the circuitry for the clock and presets.
Eventually, this shouldn't be needed if the manufacturers ever think about using a little bit of flash memory for the presets and a coin cell for the clock.

You didn't give any model number so researching the manual is impossible.
If you can find the model number, look for a user's (or installation) guide on line to find the wiring info.
