Configure settings manualy you usually have a choice of "static" and "dchp" options and a choice of "on boot" or manual" auto connection just go through the configuation procedure and play around with the settings
Also check first you isp is working
You must make sure it is "on" also Fn-F2 switches it on an off on asus machines--you should have some sort of icon also
