Question about Welbilt ABM3500 Bread Maker

My machine was stored in a garage for several years and now the LED cover is dirty--on the inside! I can't read what it says when I am trying to set the menu, load size, etc. How can I get into it to clean it off? Thanks.

    Thanks. So I just need to sort of dig out the display cover and clean it? What is araldite? Sorry--this is a new product for me!

    Thanks; you were right! All I did was peel back the plastic cover, give it a good wipe, and it re-stuck itself beautifully. I can read the LED now with no problem. Thanks a bunch.

Not an easy job to repair this one but if you break the cover off then clean and reset the clear cover in place with a bit of araldite and that will then function away and you can read it ,trying to strip the machine to get it is a work of art in itself then the added problem of seized screws and where did that the yellow wire come from ?' just break the cover off its easier a 2 minute job with a little bit of araldite ,not super glue

I have a similar black line (about 2inches in width, on the right side) on faxes sent from my Brother 4100e. I cleaned the scanner glass as suggested by you, but it continues to have the same problem on...

Either your machine's
primary corona wire for printing may be dirty, or the sending party's fax scanner may be dirty. Clean
your primary corona wire. I recommend placing the drum unit on a drop cloth or large disposable paper
to avoid spilling and scattering toner.
1. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from right to left several times.
2. Return the tab and snap it into the Home position, (Caution: If the tab is not at the Home position, printed pages may have vertical stripes).
3. Reinstall the drum unit into the machine.
4. Close the front cover.
5. Plug in the power cord first, and then plug in the telephone cord.
or ask the sender to make a copy to see if the problem is with the sending machine.
Try receiving from another fax machine.

You can also try these steps below

2 Reset the drum counter if you have already changed the drum recently. Open the device's front cover and press the button labeled "Clear," then close the cover and press the "1" button on the device's control panel.

3 Pull down on the top of the device's front cover. Slide the print cartridge assembly out of the inside of the printer and place it on a scratch piece of paper.

4 Depress the lever on the right side of the assembly and separate the toner cartridge from the drum assembly. Remove the new drum unit from its aluminum bag and snap the toner cartridge into it.

5 Place the print cartridge assembly back into the device and keep the front cover open. Press the "Clear" button, then press "1." Close the front cover once the device's screen reads "Accepted."

I have a Canon imagerunner 5000 copier and i replaced the toner about a month ago and whenever i copy alot of copies at one time, it puts clear streaks in the middle of my copies and i can't read half of...

The first thing to try when experiencing these types of problems on this machine is to clean what are called the 'corona wires'. There are 3 sets of corona wires on the machine. The easiest set to see are on beside the transport bed. Open the front door then rack down the green handle and pull the unit towards you. If you look down and just right centre you will see a metalic unit running from the front to the back of the assembly with many wires running diagonally across the unit. Inside this unit is 2 very thin copper wires which can become dirty to the point of needing replacement. You can remove the unit and blow out the dust and waste toner but if you try and clean the very thin wire with a brush or alcohol be very very careful - you may well snap one and replacing it will be almost impossible if you have never done it before. You can by a new unit though. The other two sets are hidden by the front cover above the unit you pulled out but you would really need the service manual to remove them safely.

However, you can perform a wire cleaning procedure as a user and hopefully that will help by pressing the head key (head shpe symbol with a star inside) and then the 'adjustment and cleaning' then select 'clean wires' then the machine will move cleaning pads on each of these assemblies over the thin wires several times and ifthey are not overly dirty, that may well be the solution. Perform this procedure a few times. Good Luck

Garage door opener quit working, wont open, light not lit,

Upon closer inspection I found that the power board had burnt. Weve had several power surges after the ice storm and apparently one weakend the unit. Price for the board (from craftsman) is like 80.00 and not knowing what else may have took a hit I replaced whole unit for 140.00.

The keypad is not working. I forgot how to set the code.

I just had a similar problem, and when I opened the button/panel on the inside of the garage, I realized there is a 9-volt battery there. That battery was more than 5 years old - no wonder it died.
One extra symptom, when the code was not working, I got no LED lights on the panel -- with a fresh battery, I now get an LED working. If you're not getting any light, check for a battery.

Assuming that you are using the same paper and have not changed any of the consumables you should do the following:

1. Clean LED head with lens cleaner or soft tissue.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge and give it a few shakes then reinstall it.
  2. The Toner Could be low so Change toner cartridge.
4. Make sure that the paper is not damp as this will cause fading and poor quality printing and images.
  1. The image drum may have been light contaminated so remove it from the printer and store it in a totally dark place for several hours then reinstall it.
  2. If the image drum is dirty then wipe it very gently with soft tissues, being careful not to scratch it.
  3. Open the top cover and check to be sure that each toner cartridge is fully seated and that each toner cartridge lock lever is pushed all the way back.
  4. Press the top cover release latch and open, then close, the cover.
  5. Check MEDIA MENUTRAY1 MEDIA TYPE and set as required. Do the same for TRAY2 and MPT.
  6. Check MEDIA MENUTRAY1 MEDIA WEIGHT and set as required. Do the same for TRAY2 and MPT.
  7. Possibly set the value of media weight in the menu to the next heaviest one.
  8. Check PRINT MENURESOLUTION setting and set to 600 x 1200DPI
  9. Check PRINT MENUTONER SAVE MODE and make sure this is OFF
  10. Check PRINT MENU – MONO PRINT SPEED and make sure this is set to MIXED SPEED
  11. Check the COLOUR MENU – DENSITY CONTROL and set this to AUTO
  12. Check the COLOUR MENU – AUTO DENSITY and set this to EXECUTE
  13. Check the COLOUR MENUCMY 100% DENSITY is set to ENABLE if you want a glossier black finish.

Invalid disk error

I had a problem with a Lite-On Lite-On that had been working fine then stopped reading any disc--sometimes it would go through the motions of recording if a disc was in and a timed recording was due to start. After recording it would not read the disc. A google search led me to find the a dirty laser would cause this. I removed the cover and with a clean lint free cloth I used rubbing alcohol to clean it and it has worked fine since. While I had the cover off I took the unit to my garage and used an air compressor to blow all the dust out of the unit and cleaned the laser again just in case. That was about 6 weeks ago and it works fine. My unit has a cooling fan that I think contributed to the dust problem.

Harry, two possibilities that are immediately apparent. One, the lens on the drive is dirty. Stop by a department store and buy a CD/DVD laser lens cleaner CD and put it in the drive several times, making sure that it tries to read it each time. This can brush away the debris on the lens and it may work again. Two, the drive motor or lens assembly (that moves) has failed. My experience is that these drives have a 2-3 year life span. Luckily, they are now bargain-priced and you can pick them up at your local discount store and replace them yourself.
