Check whether the main internet connection is attached properly to the router.by connecting the direct ethernet input cable to your laptop and testing whether internet is accessible to you. If it works then you can plug that cable to the master input of the router. It may be needed to setup the ethernet settigns again by logging into the router as admin user and validating connection.

Hope this helps.

How to install device drivers using driver files without a setup

Obtaining drivers is a very important aspect in the everyday use of a PC since outdated drivers need to be updated. Drivers can be downloaded from many different sources on the internet and through many third party software programs. Whatever the source, there are a number of times that people download drivers and they realize that what they have obtained are just the raw driver files without any setup. A lot of people get stranded in such cases. The following, is a very simple way of installing these driver files:

Whether under Windows XP, Windows Vista or even Windows 7, do this:
1. Click on the start button and right-click 'My Computer' or 'Computer'.
2. Select manage and wait for the resulting window (if asked whether to continue, continue).
3. Select 'Device Manager' from the left panel.
4. Now, depending on the device you want to install the driver for, or update its driver, right-click the device (you may have to click on the plus sign to reveal hidden devices). select the first option (update driver software) from the drop-down options.
5. In the case of Windows Vista and Windows 7, select browse my computer for driver software and then browse for the folder that contains the files.
6. In the case of Windows XP, select the last option which avoids the internet and click next and select manually locate files and next. Now add the location of the folder that contains the driver files.
7. Click next and Windows will automatically install the driver files for your device.
8. Restart your PC and you are done.

This procedure is not necessary when a setup file is available unless the setup file is corrupted but the driver files are available.

Hope this was helpful and all the best.

Click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ?
you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled.
Make sure your antivirus program is not blocking the internet connection.
If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then
you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then
Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question ? exclamation mark ! or a red X right click install drivers.
The driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider
or the motherboard disc
You only need to check the BIOS if you cant install the driver or you could download one
Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to

on the homepage you will see a search bar type in the ethernet controller freeware you want/need
Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC http://download.cnet.com/realtek-rtl8168-8111-pci/3000-2112_4-99235.html
http://download.cnet.com/network-drivers/3150-2112_4-0-1-4.htmlRather doing a driver hunt which can take hours

http://download.cnet.com/SlimDrivers-Free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html
Windows XP/Vista/7/8

it might take some time being a freeware driver solution
Note: it will find all of your outdated drivers

This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point.

Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.

Use the Cisco connect software for the initial set up of your new E series router. While running the software for the first time it will ask you to connect the modem to the router. But will not ask you to connect the computer to the router. However it will be better if you connect the computer to the router with an Ethernet cable. Otherwise it will not find the router and you will get the error "we did not find your router". Run the program and at the end it will connect you to the Internet. You don

Ethernet not work

Check in the Device manager to see if all the devices are enable and working.
The one with a yellow ? against that device requires a driver installation.
Is the LAN device OK?
How do you intend to setup your LAN, is it for Internet access or a home network?
I need more information on your problem, together with error messages.

How do I use DriverDetective on a computer not connected to the Internet?

you can install driver detective whether you are on the internet or not, by downloading it with an internet accessed computer saving it then copying it onto a disk or usb stick. Put it on your computer and install it, it will still check your computer for outdated drivers and drivers that need updating.. Make a note of the drivers that are needed, and use an internet based computer to download the drivers that you need and then copy them to a disk and install them on your computer

I hope this helps
