Question about Canon PIXMA MP610 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Despite new cartridges I am getting a weird colour balance. Too much of a red tinge..almost as if the cyan cartridge is empty. I have utilised the cleaning and deep cleaning options several times but this makes no difference. Thanks for any help which might be available

I was getting green tinges for a long time and even though I cleaned everything it still happened. I had also used non genuine cartridges.
Eventually I took the cartridges out and gently wiped clean where the ink actually goes in and this worked. I have always been told that non genuine cartridges will ruin you printer?????? I now have all genuine back in and it works with no tinges. Was is the cartridges that clogged it - I don't know. But now that I know how to clean I will propably use the cheaper ones.

Printer will not print blue, prints pink instead

Blue is made from magenta (pink) and cyan ( sky blue), if your blues are coming out pink then they are missing the cyan component.

In your machine this could be caused by a blockage in the printhead, the cyan cartridge being empty, an electronics fault, a boma pump fault (the squishy black thing on the base of the cartridge). Check your cartridge first - if it feels lighter than the other it is probably empty. Sometimes there is a fault where the entire contents of a cartridge (usually the cyan) can be emptied in a matter of days or less. If the cartridge is unusually empty compared to the other colours - refer it to HP.

Did you replace the tri-colour ink-cartridge, or did you replace the print-head mechanism?

Are you sure that the CYAN part of the ink-cartridge is not empty?

My HP Laserjet colour CM1015 MFP printer does not pick up the paper. It doesnt calibrate either and I dont know why

I eliminated everything except two new non HP majenta and cyan cartridges. I removed the cyan cartridge and replaced it with an empty magenta cartridge, giving me 2 magenta cartridsges and althought it didnt printy, it staretd to pick up the paper so paper feed was working. I knew then that the cyan cartridge was faulty and changed it. All works now

Colour Ink Jet Cartridges emptying during a black ink print run

Hi,
If you go to your printer properties, there should be a setting whereby you have to select the option to "PRINT USING BLACK CARTRIDGE ONLY". Make sure this option is selected, otherwise your printer will use ALL colors even if you only print black.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,

Hi there. The reason for your problem is that the colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink, plus a black cartridge of course. All the other myriad colours are produced by mixing these four basic colours. So, if you print red, it requires ink from both the magenta and yellow cartridges. Thus if your red produces a yellow print, it means your magenta is not printing. This can be due to a number of reasons, mainly an empty or faulty magenta cartridge or blocked magenta print nozzles.

If you wish me to help you with sorting out the lack of magenta, please post a new comment to this effect.

Despite installing new cartridges, cleaning and priming, my HP Deskjet 710C prints pink only. Using Windows XP test page shows no blue, or yellow.

hi,
do you installing both cartridges (black and colour)?
if you do so, my advice is to reinstall the driver for your printer.

if you install ONLY the black cartridge, and the color cartridge remain the old one, (which in my opinion is the present case), your problem is from the color cartridge.
The color cartridge have 3 colors and this are: cyan (some kind of blue), yellow and magenta (similar with a pink color, but more intense). The problem is simple: in your color cartridge has left only the magenta color, cyan and yellow tanks are empty.

have 2 options:
1. buy a new color cartridge
2. refill the color cartridge.

Printing Yellow instead of Red

The colours in the 3 colour cartridges are cyan, magenta and yellow. If you want to print "red", this requires a mixture of magenta and yellow. Thus if only yellow is printed when you should be printing red, it means the magenta is not printing i.e. faulty/empty magenta cartridge or faulty/blocked magenta nozzles.

Please post a new comment if you wish for further help with this problem.
