Pressure washer won't pump

You didn't indicate what make or model pressure washer you have but if you didn't drain the water out of the unit and run conditioner through it before storing it, it's highly likely some of the check valves (there are six in most pressure washers) are frozen shut. If water was left in the pump and it got cold enough to get a hard freeze, it's possible the seals were damaged or even the case may have cracked. The only way to know what's damaged is to take the pump apart and go through it.

Does not get up to pressure engine runs fine any suggesting thank you

If the engine is turning and running OK then its one of two differant problems . The first is it could be that one of the valves inside the valve body is stuck or something is inside keeping the valve from seating properly somethimes the cages brake and get stuck in there . Its made of plastic and likely if removed the valve will work correctly again .If you look at the valve body you will see caps most of the time brass the valves are located under these caps take them off one at a time being careful of the Oring seal all it takes is one of them to create this problem . The other thing is called the unloader valve . Its located derictly under the pressure control knob and is 4 or 5 inches long . What it dose is allow the water to recurlitate thought the body when the trigger is off so the pressure dosn't build up and blow something out . There is a relief valve but that is tempature sensitive works more like the thermostat in your car and most blow at 145 degrees . If the unloader valve is not moveing then the mechine just runs and never will build up pressure . The problem is most of them especaly on smaller mechines are not serviceable and need to be replaced as a unit you can't even take them apart . The good news is most of the time if you take them off and spray light oil into themlike WD40 and work them back and forth they can be cleaned and will work with out any other problems . You should regeralr turn this knob and during winter storage the valve body should be filled with antifreeze with a lubericant . 9 out of 10 times if you check these things it will fix the problem and woun't cost you anything but some of your time . Let me know gal per min and max pressure output

Coleman model APW-120 May have frozen while stored over winter the unit is new but water was not completly removed before storage. Problem motor runs continuosly but there is no water pressure I have...

Whar has happened is that your unloader / bypass valve is sticking. This is due to minor corrosion and having water in the unit over the winter. Most of the time they will sanp out it if you do the following:

Add 3 - 4 oz of oil into the water supply connection and briefly and I mean very briefly switch on the unit then right back off. Add more oil to the water supply connection and then let it sit overnight.

Then next day turn the unit on briefly and let it sit another 30 minutes. After this you connect all hoses making sure to purge the air our of the supply hose BEFORE you connect the to the unit. Then once you turn the unit on rapidly trim cycle the wand trigger. Your goal here is to cause a water hammer of the unloader / bypass valve to get the spring and cupped seal to move in the housing. Pause briefly and see if pressure builds then fan the wand trigger again. This can take a few minutes to get it to work but the routine of pausing waiting momentarily and rapidly tripping the wand trigger is what should get the unit going again.

If this does not work you will have to take the unit apart dis-assemble the unloader / bypass vavle on the output side of the pump and remove the corrosion on the spring and the housing.

Once your done cleaning up the bypass unloader valve before you put it back in the housing place a liberal amount of Lubriplate #105 White Grease on the spring and inside the housing on the mating surfaces. (#105 white grease is available at any Auto Parts store. It is in a 3 - 5 oz plastic tube)

Re-assemble the unloader / bypass valve an it should work like a champ.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Lime/calcium build up in the pump.
Pour a large amount of liquid TSP into the fresh water inlet and let it sit for two or three days, the longer the better.
This is how I fixed my no pressure problem.
Works great now

Ex-Cell VR2500 Builds Pressure but Won't Spray

I have a similar problem and diagnosed it to be a problem with the gun. I spoke to a technician that services this pressure washer and he walked me through all the diagnostic steps. The pump is working because there is pressure being built up and the gun sort of works because you can get water out before the washer is started. The technician said that the mechanism inside the gun is either clogged or broken. I am going to Home Depot or Lowes to purchase a new gun and will try it tonight. Guns are only about $30-40. He said generic is fine as long as the thread matches and PSI is in range. Good luck!

Losing pressure more and more often, especially

not quite sure where to get the parts, but if the pressure starts out ok and decreases as it runs, it is generally that the piston rings/seals are worn out, this can happen just from sitting up over the winter.

You can google Honda Pressure Washer Parts to find a supplier for the seals/rings
