Question about GE Profile 22.2 Cu. Ft. Bottom-Mount Refrigerator - Stainless-Steel

Model PDF22MIS/PDF22SIS...illuminated control panel at top of refrigerator is intermittent....2 or 3 times a day when opened the numbers show up indicating that all is cooling and freezing correctly. The rest of the time all of the LED displays are dark.

There's a computer board on the back wall of the fridge,it powers that display,everything runs through the board,also read the instructions,it will tell you to look at one of the plug in connectors,if there's a wire in the second pin of the connector you have to cut it,the new board is updated and that wire has to be cut out if it's there,read the directions and you'll see what i mean.the board is around 200 bucks,i believe the board number is wr55x10942 but give your parts guy the model number and they will give you the correct board

Self Diagnostics

To enter Self Diagnostic mode, both temperature control panel displays must be illuminated. A display can be illuminated by pressing an adjacent temperature adjustment button. When both displays are illuminated, set the freezer and refrigerator temperature settings to 5. Simultaneously press and hold all 4 temperature adjustment buttons for approximately 3 seconds. A flashing 0 in the refrigerator and freezer displays will indicate that the refrigerator is in Self Diagnostic mode.

To perform a self diagnostic test, locate the test in Table 2, Diagnostic Tests.

For temperature control panels with single-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test. Press the HOLD button for 3 seconds to begin the test.

For temperature control panels with 3-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test code. Press any button other than a temperature adjust button to begin the test.

When testing has been completed, do one of the following things:

• Enter code 1 5 to completely reset the system.
• Enter code 1 6 to exit diagnostic mode. The temperature control panel is reset automatically.
• Unplug the refrigerator for at least 10 seconds. Test mode will terminate when the refrigerator is plugged back in.

Test mode will terminate automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Kenmore side by side refrigerator water dispensor will not shut off


Your water control valve is defective and will need to be replaced. Even though you hear the electrical part of the valve turn off the mechanical part of the control valve is stuck open causing water to continue to flow. What is your model number? I have a kitchenaid superba s by s. About every 3 days the freezer quits running and then after about 4 hours the freezer starts working again. What may be the problem?


Are you sure your model number is KSRD22FKST ? Sounds like the defrost timer is defective yet the model number you have above your post shows a W10351625 Defrost Control Board

In the fresh food section above the top shelf the control panel has either a defrost timer or an electronic defrost control. Unplug refrigerator and remove the face of the control panel so you can examine the timer or electronic defrost control for burn marks or signs of heat. The timer or defrost control is most likely what is causing the problems you describedand changing will more than likely solve this problem, Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze

It sounds like you have a restriction. Sometimes if you unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours or so it will break loose. If it doesn't then you will have to call in a repair tech to fix it.

FRIGIDAIRE: THE TOP FREEZER WORKS GOOD BUT THE REFRIDGERATOR SECTION WILL ONLY COOL DOWN TO 49 DEGREES


Most likely the defrost timer part number click here=> 215846602 located inside the fresh food compartment is defective. Below is a photo location number 23 is the timer. There should be a small opening below the control panel with a plastic plug covering the hole. Pry the plug away and with a flathead screwdriver turn slowly colckwise until the compressor stops. The compressor shouls remain off for about 25 minunites and during that time the freezer should be in defrost. Open the freezer door and listen for sounds of sizzling or crackling. If nothing happens then the defrost time may be the most likely part to replace. If compressor does not restart after that time simply turn the timer again slowly until it restarts. Latch Hooks Not Working


This is a VERY common problem, and the fix can sometimes involve replacing the door.

AFAIK, the top latch can only be replaced with the entire door gasket assembly, but it's not too difficult to do.

A google search on 'GE refrigerator latch' will find you thousands of other (former) GE customers who have had this problem.

GE Arctica intermittant clicking sound, panel flashes "hrs"


It sounds like the main control board is going bad . This controls every part on the fridge , except for the light bulbs . It's located on the back of the refrig , behind an 8" X 10" panel , with about 11 screws , holding the panel on . Part number WR55X10656 .

Temperature control panel beeping


There are 3 models with this model #,so not sure if your has lock.
If it does and still changes,contact ge and tell them what is happening,maybe they will send you out a new control panel,if the warranty expired,depends.But it doesn't hurt to try.


This feature allows you to lock the controls
so the settings cannot be changed.
To lock the controls:
Set the controls to the desired settings.
Press and hold the lock pad for
3 seconds.
When the controls are locked, the indicator
light will come on and the control settings
will not be displayed.
To unlock the controls:
Press and hold the lock pad for 3 seconds.
After unlocking the controls, the settings
will be displayed, the lock indicator light
will go out and the settings can be changed.

sounds like the adaptive defrost controller part number 61005988. not to bad to repace, the top control panel is removed by pulling down on both rear corners ( youls find little finger holes across the top rear panel to free and pulll foward, the n there are 2 1/4in screws across th efron of control, and 2 phillips head screws jus behind each light bulb, one last 1/4in screw directly on back wall will drop entire panel adn after that youl see the control in the right hand corner unplug the old replug the new . DISCONNECT POWER PRIOR TO REPAIR<
