Picture bounce or flutter

About 5 minutes after turning on set picture will bounce or flutter on all channels for about 5 minutes after that it's fine.I'm guessing it's a warm up problem but have no idea what to do before it gets worse.

No Dan picture just flutters, looks like triple picture till it stops. Thanks for quick reply Bill

No color is together. Convergence of three colors seems fine. Just a bounce or flutter on screen. Thanks Bill

While we try to watch a taped show, the channels just start flipping over and over.

In case there is a loose connection and the convergence board is not damaged. This is what I did and worked out "perfect".
My Mitsubishi HDTV Medallion 1080 has been with us for about 7 years.
The TV started showing distortioned colors and images and even when I used the convergence options from the main menu, it would not show clear images until it would be working for around an hour or if we would hit it until the image would fix. It got worst over the time at a point that it would require 2-3 hours working and several punches and kicks.
No doubt dust has done it's job, well, a vacum with a brush end can help resolve the problem.
1. Make sure the TV is off and disconnected from power.
2. Remove the rear cover at the back (it is clear wood colored and is at the lower part of the cabinet)
3. Using a vacum with a brush end, vacum all the dust that you will find. Be cautious not to hit the components and do not or apply preassure while doing the work
4. On the left side, you will see a card over a mother board, make sure to vacum it well and that it is well inserted in the slot (I did apply some preassure to make sure it was fully inserted)
It took me around 15 minutes and my tv is working like NEW.
While you are removing the dust with the vacum, you may want to vacum the 3 lenses as well, again, using the vacum, no need to clean them with a cloth. I saw a thick layer of dust over them and could remove it easily with the vacum.
Hope this will work for you.

Does the picture quality change at all or does it just move on the screen?
Thanks,
Dan

One more question. Is the triple picture different colors? In other words is each of the three a different color?

If this is a projection TV and it shrinks and expands its a common issue with certain Philips TV sets. Sites like www.TvRepairKits.com have the kits to fix this.

No Picture - only sound

I have a TV at work that has been doing the same thing here's how I've been getting it to show a picture:

turn the TV on then quickly change it to an input channel (like front or etc) that doesn't have anything connected to it. Let it sit there for a few minutes, then change it to a regular channel and see if you have a picture.

Capacitors going bad on your DM or FMT board. Very difficult to replace, but Mits does a rebuild on the chassis. I recommend talking to your Mits service center and getting the rebuild done.

Picture is a little fuzzy and does not fit the screen

Good Day, mopar69;

Try this and if does not work, call SONY TV with Model and Serial NUMBERS, this sounds like you may have a defective light engine, and they are having problems with them, and they , Sony, are covering that device.

Restoring unit to Factory Preset Condition

1) Power off the set (set is now in Standby Mode).
2) On the remote, Press DISPLAY, CHANNEL 5, VOL +, POWER.
3) On the Remote press CHANNEL 8, ENTER.
4) Wait until Initial Setup is displayed.
5) Turn off TV sets power by the Remote or Front Panel button.
6) WAIT AT LEAST 3 MINUTES UNTIL THE LAMP COOLS DOWNS BEFORE UNPLUGGING OR DISCONNECTING THE AC FROM THE TV. If the set is not allowed to cool down the lamp may be damaged by excess heat build up.

I hope this was helpful, Good Luck, big IRISH.

Picture flutter

As I indicated (I think) in another string, this sounds more like bad connections than anything else. Try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. Let me know if that does not resolve the problem.

Is my Toshiba 57H81 worth repair?

Bounce horizontally usually means up and down, which relates

to the vertical output IC. Solder IC301, IC401 pin connects==try

again. You can easily isolate "bounce" problems by lightly

tapping on the vertical IC heatsink....Let me know if you need

further assistance.....T.

PS. Though hard to find, a qualified tech could do that repair

in home for 300. to 400.00...

Mitsubishi VS-60705 - picture flutters vertically and horizontally

This sounds like one of the 9 volt regulators on the small signal board is going bad, supplying less than 8 volts. I have seen this is several of those sets. The IC needs to be replaced and if you do not have experience in servicing projection TV's then I suggest letting a qualified tech handle it for you.

Bouncing Picture on WS48511 MITSUBISHI PROJECTION TV

I have seen this symptom a lot recently. There is a 9 volt regulator on the small signal board, and the output voltage on this IC has dropped down to about 8 volts, which causes that symptom. Replacing that regulator should cure your problem, and when I make a housecall for a set like that I charge $150, although I hear that the average service center charges a lot more than that. I also believe that it is never a good idea to leave a projection TV on all the time, so whoever told you that has no idea what they are talking about.
