Problem exists...!!! Hi, As per the discussion this morning, I removed the HDD and put it back again. However the problem exists :(. However, I have noticed that...near the wireless switch in the front, there are 3 display lights. I guess, the extreme left one is for power, the middle one is for charge, and I am not sure of the extreme right display light. However the extreme right display light glows for 5-6 seconds only when the system is started and goes off..... Looking forward yo your mail :) In case you feel its a serious issue. Can you refer me to someone or HP support in Doha...!!! Regards, Vipin Kumar.

hi, i believed there is no possible way of putting 2 internal HDD in 1 laptop, seems the area of the existing HDD inside is already limited and also crowded of some other parts...and its not designed for 2 HDD either. the best way for me to advice is upgrade the existing HDD to higher capacity from the existing " GB " to " T " or add up a big capacity 2.5 " pocket size external HDD.

Is it possible to boot from an Iomega eGo Blackbelt Mac Edition Portable HD and also use it to clone an existing drive? I want to upgrade an existing 160GB Internal HDD in a Macbook Pro 17" to a...

It's possible to clone to this drive, but over the USB interface, it will be very slow. Firewire would be faster. It's also possible to boot from it, but again, it will be slower than an internal. What you've described, however, IS possible.

My PS3 freezes whenever i play a game, but i can watch movies with no problems. whats going on

hi there,
it sounds like your ps3 is overheating, this happens more often with games cause they use more graphic power than a movie does thus causing the gpu chip to overheat and freeze on you. It could also be that your hdd is not slotted in fully and this can cause it to freeze also. what you can try is to make sure the fan at the back is well ventillated, clean it of any dust and make sure that its working. remove all cables too and check that none of them are damaged and make sure they are connected properly to the ps3 and tv. Do not play a game for at least half hr after you have done all this, just to make sure it's cooled down and put your ps3 in an open space to allow plenty air to get in at the back if you have not already done so. if the console is still freezing when you try it again, then try removing the hdd and put back in again to see if that's what is causing the problem. Be sure to backup any data on the hdd 1st tho as you will loose this if you going to remove the hdd. you can use the backup manager on the ps3 itself to do this. Hope this helps

Well, there are two things you should do before taking drastic measures: 1) Turn the batter off for a few minutes, turn it back on and reboot. -or- 2) Try to connect the GB to your PC and re-load the firmware. -Very simply, just connect your GB with the USB cable only to your PC. -Open up Windows Explorer and locate the GB's drive letter (if available, it will look something like this (G:\GIGABEAT - if it isn't there after repeated attempts, skip to the "drastic measure") -Once you locate the drive, keep it in mind and now navigate to the C:\programfiles\Toshiba\Gigabeat Room\2 directory. -In that directory, you'll see a GBSYSTEM directory. Right-click "copy" (or drag 'n drop) it directly into your GB's drive letter and overwrite any existing files. -Unplug, power off and reboot. -If that doesn't work - reformat with the included Toshiba GB format utility and repeat (maybe repeat twice if it fails again - to confirm you did it right.) -If it still doesn't work - time for drastic measures (or taking it back and getting a replacement) DRASTIC MEASURES: ------------------------ Don't worry, it's not that bad and many of us have had to do it for some reason or another. If you're not comfortable taking apart your GB, then please don't do this. Take it back. If you feel confindent in your tinkering skills, follow the instructions EXACTLY as written : So you?re Gigabeat is stalled? Seems like you need to do a little Gigabeat Surgery in the form of a "Hot-Swap". Here?s what?s happening: When you hit the power button, you see the opening Gigabeat screen with status bar. The bar starts to move right like normal, but stops halfway and never moves again, right? So, if you want to fix it yourself? Ok, here?s how. You need to physically reset your drive so the computer will recognize it and you can put an operating system back on it. **This is the ONLY way you'll get it to work** ** DO THE FOLLOWING AT YOUR OWN RISK. ** Here's what you'll need: (not for the "mechanically/technologically challenged") 1) Phillips Screwdriver (smallest you can find) 2) Place to put tiny screws 3) Soft cloth for cushioning 4) Original Software CD (if you don't have it, google ios you're best friend !) 5)Patience **This will work and is not as hard as it seems, risk is minimal as long as you don't remove the front panel!! -------------------------------------------- Ok, here are the steps: (Read all before you start) 1. Go to this site and look up, these are images of the process: 2. Disconnect the AC adapter and switch the battery to OFF. 3. Only open up the BACK of your GB, leave the front alone, repeat DO NOT REMOVE FRONT!!!(Back slides down a bit, then out - don't force it, you'll bend the metal) 3. *GENTLY* disconnect the HDD according to instructions on the web site. (See below) 4. Connect the USB port on the GB to the computer. 5. Turn battery ON. 6. Wait for GB to error and show USB logo on screen. 7. Re-attach the hard drive WITH THE GB STILL TURNED ON! It's a usb drive so that kind of thing is ok. 8. Go to the GB drive in Windows Explorer and copy the GBSYSTEM folder to the GB as per the instructions in the manual. 9. Safe disconnect the USB device (as per Windows instructions) 10. Turn battery switch OFF. 11. Put your GB back together again. 12. Switch battery to ON. 13. Turn GB on. That should do it! And what is more after you use the library refresh tool in GRoom (select GB not PC in this case) you will have all your music back, too.
