Question about Computers & Internet

Problem exists...!!! Hi, As per the discussion this morning, I removed the HDD and put it back again. However the problem exists :(. However, I have noticed that...near the wireless switch in the front, there are 3 display lights. I guess, the extreme left one is for power, the middle one is for charge, and I am not sure of the extreme right display light. However the extreme right display light glows for 5-6 seconds only when the system is started and goes off..... Looking forward yo your mail :) In case you feel its a serious issue. Can you refer me to someone or HP support in Doha...!!! Regards, Vipin Kumar.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I powered my laptop is morning and there is no display. I can only see light in the screen, I removed my RAM and HDD and remounted them but my pc still the same. Can anyone help in this situation, I will...

Put everything back together...without the ram it won't boot up! Did you charge it recently? If not, plug in the power supply and wait 1 hour to see if it the transformer box gets warm to the touch. If not, you need a new power supply. If it is warm, you need to try to reseat the battery and try again. If still no output, the battery is dead!

I charge my battery fully, then use it for 10-15min then close it overnight and the next morning it is dead again????

Are you sure the battery is good it maybe its not holding its charge. . Try removing the battery from the laptop after using it 10 to 15 min see what happens next morning when you put it back in.. Make a note of percentage charge before removeing it on the battery power meter.and again next morning. Hope this has helped you.

Hi mohamed04,

I recommend you to perform an HDD self test so we can understand if you have a faulty HDD or just a Software problem caused by any windows update or virus that might have corrupted your windows boot file.

For performing an HDD self test you should turn on the unit and when HP invent logo appears press " ESC " key, then you will have access to other menu where you should select option " F2 - System Diagnostics" and then " F4 - Hard disk Test" . After process finishes it will provide you a message with " success" or #xx Fail".

You need a new hard drive and install fresh windows operating system. Maybe after that you can try to put your old hard drive to external enclosure hard drive and try to recover your computer will recognize the hard drive. Hope this helps,

HRH

Procedures prior sending in laptop for monitors?

All your data will be lost after you send it in for repair. Buy an external HDD and back up all your files. Thats all you need to do. NO need to defreg, etc...
You cant back up applications, you will need to reinstall them after you receive the laptop back.

Did you try F8, safemode? You may have bad sector on HDD.
Check your date and time with bios page. Set your primary boot to HDD
try again. Otherwise, Remove all powers, Take off HDD, put on USB connection and check error by another computer (Must use same OS)
Open as D;\ > or some other as L:\ next to the C:\
Rigth clcik on go to Tools, scan with it., Install the HDD back to your laptop turn on, (Before any process do not forget to remove power and battery)

first you have to know it's not the 512 kb it is an 512 MB. If it is the laptop there may be the two slots in the corner of the slot you see the knob press it slidely the knob on the both side after remove as the same process to put new ram on the slot but before that see please check if your computer or the laptop is supports the 2GB ram . you can see the manual of the laptop or search the web or ask the shop where you buy the laptop. these are steps for ram. try it , and if problem comes again ,please inform to fixya.com

Reg: previous...!!!

On the bootom of your laptop you will find icon of HDD secured by 1 or 2 screws , unscrew these and slide out the hard disk . REMEMBER TO DO ALL THESE STEPS ONLY AFTER YOU DISCONNECT YOUR LAPTOP FROM ITS AC ADAPTER IF YOU KNOW HOW YOU COULD EVEN REMOVE THE BATTERY FIRST . When you are removing the HDD out notice carefully the way its was inserted because when you replug it back into its slot you HAVE TO DO SO CORRECTLY ELSE You will end up damaging the HDD AS WELL AS THE LAPTOP. Handle the HDD ONLY by its SIDES DO NOT HOLD ARE APPLY PRESSURE ON ANY OF ITS FLAT SURFACE. Read fully and follow what I have typed here . DO NOT BLAME ME FOR ANY OF YOUR MISTAKES.
