Question about Admiral AW22 Top Load Washer

Open Question

My Admiral Capacity Plus Washer (Model # LNC 6760) is leaking from the bottom. It appears it is coming from the pump. However, there have also been two occassions when the machine was washing very slow. Any ideas?

If the bolt is still on top. it was probably screwed too tight and wore through. then you need a new agitator

Washer won't agitate or spin

i believe this is what we call a direct drive system 2 things it could be is the drive coupler located under unit between the transmission and motor .it is a plastic piece with 3 prongs on each side and a black rubber bushing that goes in between each side to connect ..it is somewhat like a shear pin on a tractor it is designed to break when to much pressure... before you check this make sure the unit is making some sort of noise when it is suppose to agitate or spin..you should hear the motor running just won't spin the tub... if you are not hearing anything then i would suspect you have a bad lid switch on the unit... the lid switch is like a safety switch while running if the lid is raised the unit will stop power supply to motor ...you can check the lid switch byby passing it temporarily and see if it works .... one of the 2 may be your issue.... good luck to you

Water is leaking from the bottom of the machine and will not fill up

Hello,

Your water leak can come from 3 areas:

1) drain hose on back of washer is coming off / splitting / getting loose

2) water pump is leaking (cracked?) or has a gasket that has deteriorated.

3) hose between tub and water pump has come off / split / became loose.

Since your washer isn't able to hold water, it makes it easy to remove the clothes, and lean the washer forward to see what is going on. Most washers' mechanicals can be acessed from either the bottom, or from the back via access panel. The water leaks are generally a pretty easy repair.

My admiral washer Model #lnc 676OB71 continues to let water run in the machine even with the cycle dial turned to off. What is going on? The lid can be closed or open.

If the water continues to run, even when power is off at the wall switch it's likely that the water inlet valve has failed...When power is cut they should shut off!..Replacing the inlet valve is a simple and common job...Good luck....Nomess

How do I remove front panel of my Admiral Capacity Plus washer?

The front panel does not come off.

To access the inside - there are a few screw on the back - then the shroud is removed.

Admiral capacity plus too loud during spin cycle. This is not a normal sound EXTREMELY LOUD!! What could cause this??

If its older then 10 years then its probably the tub bearing and seal.If you can do this tilt the machine back look under the bottom and turn the belt by hand and if you can isolate if the noise is not the water pump bearing. rate this !!
