Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

We just moved into a home that has a honeywell ac/heat system. There is no manuel to set the control timers and temperature and we are starting to get some chilly mornings here in Minnesota. Could you please send me a manuel for the T8001C model. There is also a 9825 E number inside the cover. I am about to buy a new thermostat just to get the instructions but that doesn't seem to smart on a fixed income. Wait your reply. Rita McCauley mccauley567@msn.com

SOURCE: how to change the battery

The battery is inside the thermostat. There should be screws / or / it will just pry off the mounting base (not the wall). There are usually rechargable batteries inside.

SOURCE: Inside blower not starting every time

This should have a time delay sequencer for the blower in the a/c mode. These are bad about being interminent in the a/c mode and also in fan. I have had some that would freeze up and I would get there and the fan be running. Thaw out and check and everything be ok. Got to cycling the fan on and off and sooner or later it would get where fan didn't come on. After replacement the customer didn't have anymore problem. Check the rely, looks like a heat sequencer but mounted on plate to blower compartment.

SOURCE: 2002 nissan pathfinder LE heat/AC fan stays on highest speed all of the time

Could be one of 2 things. It could be blower motor resistor or blower motor amplifier. If you have AUTO AC feature/setup, than it will be the amlifier. If you have manual AC than I would look at the resistor, but sounds like you have AUTOAC system, so get the amlifier checked. Its behind the glove box screwed to the air box assembly. 2 screws and its out. Hope this helps. Good luck and let me know what you found.

How do I fix central heating

The first thing you need to substantiate is the fact that there is enough water in the system. It will be a closed loop system requiring approximately 10 psi/ floor. (Only a rule of thumb). Usually when one protion of the system works and the other does not, it is an issue of water quantity available to circulate through the combination of loops. If you have to add water, you will probably have to purge air from the highest points in the system. Even if there is an "Airtrol" fitted in the bottom of the expansion tank, bleeding the high points will eliminate air quicker.

The hot water portion of the loop should only be going through a heat exchanger that transfers the loop temp to the domestic water circuit and the three way valve is probably a 'mixing valve' utilized to maintain a certain loop temperature on the primary loop.

My thermostat when prgrammed and set on "auto" mode kicks on heat when temp drops below set temperature. The problem is that after warming up to that temperature...it does not shut the fan off. ...

I have a honeywell TH8320U thermostat and American standard Air handler with heating unit put in. THE thermostat works fine with the ac and follows the programs I have set. However the heat is a different story. The thermo clicks on to follow program but the unit does not run. (auto settings) If I place the thermo in heat and turn it to on I get heat?
