Question about Insignia GPS

Open Question

Haave an Insignia 10" digital frame. NS-DPF10PR. I am using thumb or flash drives with my pictures on those. Continually during the time it is on it goes to the set-up area. It will not allow me to move it icon to the USB icon. When I press slide show at that time it goes to demo mode. All I can do to get it going again to the USB pictures is to turn it off and then back on. This is the third one I have had since July '10.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: continually returns to demo mode

I had to contact TomTom to answer this, their advice was:
On your device tap the bars that show the strength of the satellites. Then top right tap the clock and hold for 30 seconds.

I tried this but it didn't make any difference to me, but I thought it may help other users. I'll let you know when I get any further advice.

SOURCE: Insignia only shows the SD Card Screen now

After 4 days of purchasing my NS-CNV43, I had the same issue (insert SIM Card picture) preventing the full start up / boot up.

The solution was old school, I took a pencil eraser to the contacts on the SIM Card and the Micro SD Card and wha-la (or bingo bango) the GPS unit now works again.

I hope this works for you.

Try with fewer images. If it works, you may have too many images for the device. Contact the store or vendor where you purchased it.

I suspect you are right. I would find a PC at a local library and download your file to a newly PC formatted thumb drive. Use a FAT32 format. Try that.

If the pictures are in the memory card, remove the memory card and insert it in a computer that will accept that type of card. Go into "My Computer" and locate the card as a drive. Open that drive and see if you can access the files, then delete. You can purchase a card reader from Staples if you don't have one. You should be able to delete the pictures through the cameras' setup menu.

Uploading photos

Both the thumb drive and the picture frame are USB slave devices, not USB masters. They both need to be connected to a USB master in order to transfer files.

Do you have a standard USB cable from some other device, any other device? If so, that should fit into the picture frame. If not, you'll have to buy one.

Connect the thumb drive to your computer. Create a folder on the computer and copy your photos to that folder. Then connect the picture frame to the computer and copy the photos from the folder to the frame.

If you have two or more USB ports, you can skip the folder and just copy photos from the thumb drive directly to the frame.

Usually products would come with a registration card along with all the paperwork you would fill that out and send it in.

* I checked the Insignia website and there is not a place to reg. that product.

* There are pages of articles from Best Buy and Insignia stating
"Insignia digital frames, with model number NS-DPF10A, may be infected with the virus, Best Buy states in its posting. The company is asking users to contact its Insignia customer care number, 877-467-4289, to determine whether their digital picture frame is infected and how to troubleshoot the virus." LINK TO REST

They aren't even selling that frame anymore. They started coming out around Black Friday and have not even recalled them. They just state you must contact them for help to see if yours is infected then they will tell you how to fix it. To get in touch with them to ask them about the virus issue, and how to register it CLICK HERE.

Hope this helps
