The V610 has dual internal lenses. Nothing extends outside of the camera.

I have an E45 error message on my KODAK V610. so far the only advice I have read refers to lens extensions and misalignments. This camera has dual internal lenses so there is nothing that extends past the body of the camera to tweek. Kodak suggests cleaning the battery and memory card contacts and upon failure of that to send it off for repair.

  • ajd9584 Sep 07, 2010

No help on the other recomendations. as I said before this is an internal dual lens V610 Kodak camera, ie No external lens barrels to bend or misalign. the only external movement is a thin lens shield that retracts sideways into the cameras body when it is turned on...but when error code E45 comes up the camera will not shut off and the shield will not close unless I remove and reinsert the battery and shut it off quickly before the error displays.

Ok, now this works most times, tap lens on firmly on the palm of hand, then switch back on again. Repeat until it works, sometimes a quick, rap, on a hard surface will also work.

Hi. This means the lens alignment of your camera is messed up and it will take repair service to fix it. The cost of this might be equivalent to replacing the camera- Better to call KODAK and see what they're willing to do for you.

Not supported solution is to smack the side of the camera . That helped some people with the same error .

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Busy flash picture and 3484 code

When showing busy, most of the time the camera detected an error, but can't find out what is causing the error.
Try the normal "reset" method as follows:
Like a cold boot for a computer, the camera can be "rebooted"
follow the following steps:
Switch of the camera and remove the battery.
Remove the memory card and the lens. (if possible)
Recharge the battery. Wait till the indicator on the charger indicates the battery is fully charged.
Check all contacts, if they are clean and shiny. Contacts (from battery and memory card, only to be cleaned with a dry cloth or cotton swab(s).
Reinsert the battery, reinsert the memory card and re-attach the lens.
Then switch on the camera.
If this does not help, contact a certified Canon repair centre.

Canon 400D,Error 99 keeps coming up,have replaced battery pack,even recharged batteries,stillbeing told to"replced battery pack".Help...

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could means several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:

Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Have a good one!

My Kodak V705 has Error #45 lcd cant come so that i can take pictures?says see user's guide what should i do?

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
The Actual reason stated my Kodak behind this error is the e45 error denotes that it's time to repair your camera. It's also indicative of a lens retraction. It could be that your battery is long in the tooth and doesn't have enough capacity anymore to adequately power the camera. Lithium Ion batteries do lose capacity over time and going on 3 years, a simple replacement of the battery could solve the issue.
Also try to turn off the Cam, remove the memory card/any accessory attached to the Cam, remove the battery, clean the contacts, then reinsert the battery and turn on the Cam. Absent that, a repair is required.
If you think I was of help, your token of appreciation in the form of rating will be esteemed.
