Question about HP NC8000 (DE503AV) DVD+RW Burner
Yesterday My laptop bag fell of the desk and as it fell it pulled the power cable out of the back of my laptop (nc8000-hp) from there on the computer must be plugged in for it to work if i pull the cable out it wont work the laptop didnt drop and i have removed and put back the battery which appears to be charging
Many of the power jacks also contain switch contacts that allow the adapter to power both the laptop and the "charging" system. I would suspect that one of the leads had either been broken or at least detached from the pc board. This laptop needs to be dis-assembled and the power jack repaired. Worse case will result in the replacement of the jack or the repair of the board if that part has been cracked.
