Question about Olympus FE-230 Digital Camera
I had this problem a few months ago, someone told me to reset and remove battery for 24hrs which resolved the problem, but this does not work now any ideas?
Thanks for all the replies. A friend suggested i put the camera in the freezer, yes the freezer for 24 hours without the battery installed or memory card, i tried this and guess what...... it still did not work!
The camera is just outside the warranty now, costs for repair just ain't worth it, so in frustration i shook the camera quite violently and when demonstrating the fault to my friend the dam thing worked! and has been working since. When not used its wrapped in cotton wool in the drawer, by worth a try. Thanks all. Bryan

Other than sending it in for repair (you will be charged)
Call Customer Service on the phone, Complain, ask to speak to the Customer Service manager, Complain
When I say complain, I mean do it nicely.
The Customer Service Reps, are just doing their job, and are limited by what they can do, Their Manager is not.
Try to remember that they listen to a lot of irate and rude customers every day, so being polite , they really do appreciate the courtasy.
This seems to be a common enough problem that they probably published a white paper for distribution to the repair facility's. so they should be aware of it.
If all else fails , inquire about their trade up program.
I would rather spend a few dollars to get a new, and possibly a
upgrade with a whole year warranty than to have to spend full price for a new one.
And if you do decide to purchase one, don't forget to register it online. They will extend your warrant and offer you a discount on accessories
Remember be persistent and pleasant. they DO want you as a satisfied customer.
Don't get frustrated and jump through the hoops.
You might just find it has a happy ending after all.
