Re: upgraded t vista
This is a common problem with vista being in its infant stage i havent worked much with vista yet seeing the reviews of vista is still a long ways away from being a full functioning adult program
in the reviews with being so young most programs and hardware that worked with xp will not work with vista at this time
im sure there are drivers out there for hardware, drivers but overall if windows update doesnt have updates for drivers the only thing i can suggest is wait about a month im sure windows is working out the bugs or the production company working out bugs for your hardware drivers these are things people dont want to hear but its windows vista its still a baby
you will have to be patient

Sorry to hear you have a problem. Did you install windows 7 as an upgrade? If so, did you run the upgrade advisor before you upgraded? If you installed it as a new clean Operating System, did you check to see if your HP m1160n has drivers that will work with windows 7?
I just went to the HP website to check for your drivers but it does not recognise the model you state
and put in all the numbers of all the stickers on the case or that look like HP. These maybe serial number, part number, model number, spares number until you get a match for M1160N.
Then check to see if your drivers are available for Windows 7. If they are not you will need to install seperate new audio, network and TV tuner cards that er compatible with Windows 7.
All the best, Phil
Hi Adrian, i have a problem with my Tv turner, the driver for the web dont works, i lose the dvd recovery from my medion titanium 803 is any posibilty tha you can make a copy y share with me, if want i can pay u a fews buck via Paypal. Please send me a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
You just upgrade to new Operating System i.e. Windows 7. So all devices like Tv tuners cards etc. have different drivers for all operating systems . So you have to install the drivers of your Tv tuner card which is compatible to windows 7. Go to www.driversguide.com or go to your Tv tuner card maufacture site for drivers.
I had same problem after an upgrade but i simply found updated drivers from Microsoft Update which fixed my problem. If this doesnt work for you try the manafacturers website for updated drivers, even Vista drivers should work....cheers
Since you already tried to go to ATI to download the latest drivers, do this: Go to control panel, and administrative tools. Click on the event viewer and check out the system logs (click on system) and look for entries on the right side with a red X. These will probably give you a clue just what part of the sytem is having a problem with the card. If the problems occur when you use an application and not in Windows generically, click on the application logs and see if there is a problem there. Be aware that this may take some sleuthing--the error messages are not always clear, but many times you can click on the link that takes you to Microsoft and they suggest what you can do.
I have an older ATI turner as well and the older cards do not work too well with Windows Xp or Vista. You may be able to find a driver that works by performing a Google search for it, otherwise the cards are very inexpensive right now and you can pick up a new one, probably with HD, for less than $100.
Why in the heck would you use VISTA?
It still has a ton of issues and driver problems?
I was a Beta Tester for MS Vista.
If you certian thats what you want, make sure you have all of the service packs or go back to the stable XP.

Windows Vista is still behind providing drivers for tv tunners....unless you buy new ones designed for vista. If you had your tv tuner for xp and it worked fine on that operating system than I am afraid that you are going to have to buy a new one for vista.
How ever you may find that microsoft or the third part supplier may be on the process of supplying software for your tv tunner.
Please let me know what happens woth you... I would be grateful to if you could let me have the serial number and the model number so that I can do research for you and try and help you out.
I tried numerous solutions for this issue and none of them worked except this one. I tested it with Vista Ultimate and don’t know if other Vista versions have the same drivers but here’s what worked for me:
1.Right click ‘Computer’ then left click ‘Properties’ to open up System window. 2.Click ‘Device Manager’ 3.Click ‘+’ on ‘Display Adapters’ and you should see the drivers for your video. Right click and select ‘Update Driver Software...’ 4.Select ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ and click ‘next’. 5.Click ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’ 6.Untick ‘Show compatible hardware’ 7.Select ‘Intel Corporation’ then select ‘Intel 82865G’. Click next.
This will install the drivers. No they are not the same drivers for the hardware but they work a treat!
