Try steaming less actual milk and allowing the froth and expansion to make up the volume you need for the size of the cup. This allows you to steam the milk longer achieving a hotter froth.

How to Make Great Drinking Chocolate



Hot chocolate is one of thoses childhood drinks that are amazing. It doesn't matter how old or young you are - everybody loves a good hot chocolate.
I've followed hundreds of different recipes but my all time favorite is this one. It's actually a Parisian hot chocolate recipe so not only does it taste great but it sounds very fancy.
Ingredients:
2 cups full fat milk
5 oz (130g) of good quality bittersweet chocolate ie high percentage of cocoa - chopped small
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (to taste).
Method:
1. Heat the milk in a medium pan
2. When the milk is warm whisk in the chocolate and stir until melted and very hot.
3. Cook on a low boil light for about 3 minutes but whisk constantly. Make sure it doesn't boil over.
4.Taste it and add sugar if desired.
Serve in small coffee cups for a really sophisticated look.

Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe (with soy milk)


Ingredients:
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soy milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 and 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips



Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix the oil and sugar (you can use margarine if you prefer) until it becomes creamy and then add the eggs, the soy milk and the vanilla.
Combine the dry ingredients mixing them well and then add them slowly into the cream created before. Every few spoonfuls of dry ingredients, stir and then keep adding.
Blend well until it all looks smooth with no clumps and then add the chocolate chips.
Take a tray covered with wax paper and drop a spoonful of batter every inch or two, then let it bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
The cookies will be ready when they will be a sort of dark-ish gold. Pick up one with a tool to make sure it's cooked on the bottom too and take the tray out carefully.

How do you make iced hot chocolate?


  1. Pour milk into blender.
  2. Add hot cocoa mix and ice.
  3. Blend first at low speed and then high speed until ice is finely crushed and slushy.
  4. Pour into tall glass and top with whipped cream and a dusting of hot cocoa mix, if desired.
  5. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
  6. P.S. This recipe was originally posted using small ice cubes. At our shop we have a commercial blender that has no problem getting through these. Since most people have regular blenders, I have changed it to crushed ice.

Anyone have a recipe for a fancy hot chocolate for adults?


Nigel Slater has a simple hot chocolate recipe that is more about the taste of the chocolate and less about the artificial sugar.

Take 50g of good quality dark chocolate and grate into a saucepan with 250ml of milk that is almost at the boil. Stir the milk until the chocolate has completely dissolved and the drink is slightly thicker.

Stir in sugar to taste and you can even add some double cream. This recipe serves one person.

What does it mean by 1/3 expresso, 1/3 steam milk and 1/3 frothed milk? 1/3 cup...1/3 teaspoon??????? New to this. what are measurements


i'm sure it is referring to total volume, that being 1/3 of your total is expresso, 1/3 of total volume is steamed milk, etc etc. it is not really a measurement but a ratio of the different components of the drink you are making, example,,, chocolate milk might be 1/4 chocolate and 3/4 milk. if you were making it it would take 1/4 of the "mug" you ar using filled with chocolate, the rest or 3/4 filled with milk. make sense?

Tassimo not fully dispensing the t-disk


I do not have experience with milk or chocolate, but for coffee and tea, at the end of a brew cycle, the green light should flip to the MANUAL light. For the next 30 seconds you have the option to press and hold the start button, to force more hot water through the pod into your cup. Give this a try to purge the pod of it's goodies!

Frothe the milk?


he trick to this is making sure you have steam comming out of the wand and not water. To do this, make sure you get the steam started before you begin. To get a light foam that will not deflate, hold the wand just under the surface of the milk. You should hear a steady, high pitched noise and you should not hear the splatter of bubbles popping on the surface. Popping noises mean that the wand is too high in the milk and your froth will not hold up. A low pitched noise from the cup means that the wand is too far down in the milk. This will heat your milk (for hot chocolate), but will not give you a good foam. Good luck!
