Depends on motherboard. Easy way to find out is to use a program called SANDRA lite to test your PC hardware - it will give you recommendations on improvements you can make

repairing these items are not cost effective
you can take it to an appliance repair shop but parts if available will be close to the cost of a new unit

I want to upgrade the processor and add second hard drive to pavilion a6152n

Hi.

This is possible and is more cost effective than buying a new PC. The processor is a Socket 775 so just look out for a better one than you already have.

Regards.

I have a Compaq Presario SR2011WM which powered down on me. I get a solid light in the back and when I hit the power button I get a solid light on the front also which will not shut off unless I unplug it....

Well, unplugging something (I'm not quite clear on what you unplugged), especially if it supplies power to the processor usually doesn't fix things. If you mean the plug that looks like http://www.pcguide.com/byop/diagrams/figure9.jpg then it helps supply power to the motherboard, and I'm not sure what unplugging it would fix but it is more likely a motherboard issue than a processor issue if unplugging it fixed the problem. Regardless because this is an older and off the shelf computer upgrading it will be difficult due to the fact that celeron's don't have the same socket type as newer processors. If it is a motherboard issue then you will need a new motherboard and a new processor for that motherboard. Essentially the easiest and most cost effective thing would be to get a new computer.

Collar on Zyliss Comfort Food chopper needs replacing what would it cost and the shipping charges. Thank you P.S. Maybe it would just be cheaper to buy a new one?

Zyliss USA has a website and sells those parts. When I ordered a part for a Mandoline for a friend, it cost way less than the whole unit.

I want to upgrade from a AMD Sempron processor 2800+ 1.6GHz 192MB to a faster AMD processor with more RAM. I have an Acer 3002LC laptop. Can you advise me what CPU will support this...

My advice to you is to purchase a faster/newer laptop.

A new processor plus labour to install the CPU will cost a substantial amount of money and the performance gain will be marginal. Also RAM bottle neck come into affect as 192mb of RAM is not going to cut it, now-days you need at least 2GB of it. I myself prefer AMD their new AMD Athlon 2 X2 CPUs perform really well.

Hamilton Beach food processor, model 70450, cracked bowl

You have a couple of choices here. The quickest and cheapest is to go to the hardware store, or a home depot and get a tube of one minute clear epoxy. This adhesive will repair the crack and since it is clear it will barely show. Plus it will dry in just one minute.

That said, yhou could also go to hamiltonbeach.com and get a new part.

Is it worth replacing pentium 4 1.7ghz with 3ghz one

The 3 GHz socket 478 processor will cost you about $90 shipped. Not worth upgrading for that cost in my opinion, when you can buy a whole new computer for $400 new, or a much better computer for 1/2 that used.

Hello. I have an older model Cuisinart food processor in which the center "stick" has broken. Is this something that can be replaced or do I need to get a new machine.

You can send it in to Cuisinart for repair, but it will cost about $140, give or take - about the same as a new processor. Don't throw that old thing away, though - sell it on eBay for collectors like me.

Upgrading my laptop's processor from celeron 540 to 560

there is no way you can upgrade the VGA on a laptop. You can upgrade everything else. But tis always better and cheaper to get a new one.

check with the cost of the celeron 560 and the 4gb + the 250 gb together.

but how much a new computer cost? so its your choice...
