Yes. You can also go to the HP website and enter your laptop serial number and in the repair/parts/upgrades section it will give instructions or video on how to perform certain tasks.

How do I open my hp pavilion entertainment pc base to find cable that connects base to screen

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-hp-pavilion-dv6500-dv6600-dv6700-dv6800-notebooks/ has good disassembly instructions - but more than what you need.

Remove the battery (Step 1) but you can ship steps 2-4.

On Step 5 - remove the screws circled in red at the top of the picture, but you can leave the other screws in place.

Steps 6-12 will get you to where you need to be.

If you need to acces any other areas of the computer, this video is an excellent guide to any/all areas of disassembly.

One Caution: There are multiple different sizes to the screws. You may want to keep a piece of paper next to the computer, and tape each screw to it's corresponding position in the computer onto the paper. that way, each screw will return to it's original position.

Hope this helps!

The problem started when I was watching a tv show and my laptop shuts down, then I tried to turn on again, and I couldn't. When I press the power button to turn on the laptop, the keyboard lights come on...

Dear Friend,

HP Pavillions are not good... Buy a new Laptop that dosnt use Nvidia graphics card.

The problem resides in the graphics card Heating up to madness.
If you know how to open your Laptop, Dissassemble it and remove the processor. Heat up the Graphics card with a hair blower for 5 to 10 minutes. put the hair dryer about 1 cm distant to the graphics card.
After that - let it cool and make sure you put back everything correctly, screw it up and Voila...
Your laptop is new again..

My HP Pavillion Entertainment laptop's screen is black. Power works, battery is fine...what can I do?

if you are in Toronto-Canada -- will perform this procedure for you , minimal cost
or let someone do this for you, who is familiar

its a heat sink (or lack thereof) issue with the CPU and video chip on board -- there is too much heat disspiated and not enough copper exposure to the video chip to absorb that amount of heat generated

before you do this let the computer cool down first for 30-60 minutes

one good thing to do , easy .. remove the screws from the plastic back cover, and remove the heatsink fan .. apply thermal compound grease to the heatsink (that sits on the CPU) and gently place it back -- do not put too much thermal compound, just a circular amount around the heat sink ..place it back, put all screws back

let me know how you make out

please send me positive response
