PAC L90 air conditioner keeps frosting up. The room air intake frosts up completely, blocking all the air.

Air conditioners frost up when there is a lack of air flow. Clean the filter, check if a belt is broken (if any), check that the fan spins freely, check all in ports and out ports for blockage and clean the coils with mild soap and water.

High pressure air cond line has frost about 10 feet inside home

You have a low freon charge or a blockage in air flow. Check the filter if it is clean then there is a low freon charge in your system in which an a/c tech will be needed.

Good luck on repairs

Should the small copper pipe inside the air handler have frost or ice on it. If not what is wrong.

The capillary lines will normally freeze during startup and should defrost after a short time. However, if they are remaining frosted, this is a sign of a low refrigerant level.

unit is freezing up because it either has too much freon or not enough. the pressure should be checked on both the low and high sides and corrected.

Our central air has started to not cool. I have looked at the outside unit and lines going from the unit to the inside of the house are frosted. What is the cause and how to fix it?

when lines are frosted you have an air flow problem ie dirty filter or blocked return air grill, fan problem or its low on refrigerant

AIR CONDITIONER

Do you have any frost on the lines going to the outside unit. If the large line is frosted your evaporator (Cooling coil in the furnace) could be frozen up. Operating it with the fan in automatic with the cooling on will sometimes be the cause of this condition.

If there is not frost on the large line going to the outside unit and you are getting air circulation inside the house the problem could be a loss of refrigerant charge. Look at the joints where the pipes were soldered to the inside and outside units for signs of oil. If you find oil at any point it is the indication of a refrigerant leak.

Ice or frost on the inside coils of the ac unit

Reduced or no airflow, Evaporator may be dirty. Low on freon.
