Question about Computers & Internet

I'm trying to install my HP F380 printer. The printer is being detected but when the process arrives at 7/8 I'm being presented by a red cross on the printer cable showing that connectivity failed and it says 'Device setup has failed to complete'

It seems that the USB cable is faulty. Try changing one. Or it could be the USB port. Connect it through a different USB port.

I tried to run the HP Deskjet F-380 Installation CD on Windows 7 64 bit and I get the message that my system won't support it.Windows Vista didn't have any problems so what gives?

Instead of using the CD:

1. Unplug the printer from the computer.

2. Download the driver at the by clicking here. Let the program run and finish installation.

3. Reconnect the printer and Windows will auto detect the printer.

If you are running Win XP or Vista, you may wanna try the steps below:

1. Start > Control Panel
2. Printers and Faxes (for Win XP) - Printers (for Vista)
3. Click the "Add a printer" of the upper left hand corner of your screen.
4. Select Local Printer.
5. Connect your printer to the USB port and turn it ON.
6. Try to detect a Plug-n-Play (PnP) printer
7. If the printer is not detected as a PnP printer, run through the unstallation wizard and select the HP F300 series or F380 > Next
8. Run through the wizard until you finish the installation.

The steps above are the steps for installing the printer driver using the generic printer drivers that are already installed in every Windows computer .

If the generic driver will not work, you may download the driver through this link:

Hope it helps and have a great day!
